Week one with Angel Its been a real pleasure having Angel with us for the last week. She is such good, kind loving and very, very happy girl. There is absolutely no aggression in her at all, even when little Fiver (Beddie/Whippet) asserts herself when she realises she can't run as fast as Angel and reverts to growling to try and win the game! At this very moment she is on the settee with Fiver on the back of the settee (her usual position) and snuggled up with Alfie.
She is no trouble at night. She settles with the others and we don't hear a word all night.
I have taken her out for a for a few walks and when she is walked on her own she is perfect, but when the others are with me she does pull a bit, but this is understandable as the others are running about without leads on.
She spent a lot of time outside today just mooching about, but I only have to call her and she comes flying back to see what's going on.
Her hang ups and gradually disappearing and she is becoming more and more confident in all situations. I'll take some more photo's over the next few days and post them asap

I went on a visit to Angel today at Elaine and Bruces. She is a changed dog. So happy and smiley and so cheeky with it. She actually stands at the back door asking to come back in. She jumps onto the back of the sofa and demands kisses. This girlie is to die for. Loads of love and loads of life. She is discovering that puppyhood that she never had.

;D ;D ;D Hello, sorry for the delay in responding, I have only just got back from work today.
Julie and her family, husband and two children (who are at Uni. but living at home) arrived last night to meet Angel. We walked them round the garden for a couple of minutes and they appeared to get on well so we let them off the lead to have a run round. Although Archie was a little hesitant at first he soon joined in the fun and gave Angel a very good run.
We them went inside and Julie and co. spent an hour getting to know Angel and the way she interacted with Archie. Angel was perfect little girlie and Archie seemed relaxed with her.
We agreed that Julie would phone me the next morning and let me know what they wanted to do.
Nice and early today Julie phoned me and said they would like to re-home Angel, which is brilliant news. I really think this will be a lovely home for Angel, which is what she deserves after such a rotten start to life.
I have agreed to take Angel to her new home next Monday which is great as it will give us a few more days to enjoy her being with us. She is such a lovely girl, there is nothing bad I can say about her, she just wants to please. She has come on so much in the last few weeks, she hardly shows any signs of nervousness, in fact quite the opposite, she is full of confidence most of the time. Only occasionally she cowers a little if there is a sudden noise or movement, but she just says 'hey no problem, I can get through this' and starts smiling again.
I will post again next week after I deliver Angel to her new home. I have taken some photo's of Archie and Angel and I apologise but I still can't work out to post on the forum using Photobucket, so perhaps Jenny will assist if I send them to her.

Archie will be having his new mate to stay forever on monday!! We all look forward to opening our hearts to Angel/Angie, and hope that she will let us into hers. Archie was an abandoned lurcher greyhound/saluki aged about 6months when we found him at the dogs trust in newbury march 2008, after our faithful old lurcher sam had died. He bounced into our lives and like tigger keeps bouncing!! He's a clown and we love him to pieces. We felt he could do with some company and are so pleased to have found angel-such a gentle soul.
