Best rescue at Much Hadham fete ;D Did you read my mind John She was fantastic. I think Uncle Barney took photos. And the entry was enormous. Oakley got 3rd with Lorna and a little dog I walk named Ahnam, who came over from Afghanistan with the tropps got 4th. He's not a Lurcher but he is like one of the oldest types of dog on the planet. Oakley was looking fab Lorna. Hope Carl found his way home again

Angel has now been here a fortnight. She was on antibiotics for the first 10 days, till last Monday, and was due to be spayed on Wednesday, yesterday, but she started coughing on Monday night. I think it was a bit of contraband - the bins on part of the walk get emptied on Monday and there's always some spillage - but the vet said that, if it's kennel cough she should wait till she's better and if it's a scratched throat they wouldn't be able to put the air tube down. She's now booked in for tomorrow. Every time I say something like "she hasn't coughed for x hours" she promptly coughs, but all is clear so far today. I'm sure it's not KC, her nose is wet, her appetite is fine and she runs around the garden playing with Pablo. She has fitted in well with the home hounds and Pablo. She's getting more used to living in a house and is one of the prettiest little dogs I have seen. However, calling her Angel is more of a hope than a description although the bin raiding, counter surfing and pulling on lead are getting better.

Stick a stamp on her bum and send her to Hayling. I only wish we were closer. Joy

Angel didn't cough, so she went for her spay today. I will ring shortly to see how she is.

Hi Jenny, you are one fantastic person as are all the SLR team. If you're pushed for a foster home (and I know I haven't been homechecked yet) I could take her. I do have a bouncy 13month female Viszla who would love a mate. The chickens have gone on permanent hols and the cat left home when we went to Cornwall at the beginning of August and hasn't been seen since - so I need something to cuddle (not that I cuddle chickens you understand!). If you need me please give me a call 07732 497221. Hoping to spot some SLR t-shirts at the Romsey Show tomorrow.

Now that I've got over my blond moment and managed to get to page 33 I can see she's sorted - one lucky girl.

Angel has some seepage from the wound and is being kept in overnight as a precaution. We're to ring after 8 to see when we can collect her.

The bleed was from the muscle wall not internal. It's stopped now, she had a good night and has had breakfast and we can pick her up after 9.30. ;D

We got home about 10.15 and then had to sort her out a nice space and, at long last, walk and feed the others.
She has some deep stitches in the muscle wall that need to come out in 3 days then a second layer that come out in 10 days. She's quite steady on her feet but Pablo was really pleased to see her again so was quite bouncy. They're sunbathing quietly now.
There were nodules in the womb that were causing the vaginal bleeding but after a complete hysterectomy that should now all be fixed. She's got Rymadyl and Synulox (amoxycillin) for the next 4 days.
Then all she needs is worming, defleaing, more injections, fattening up and then she'll be ready to go, maybe in a fortnight's time.
