Bruce will be coming in today from the pound ;D They have kept him, jostling paperwork to keep him alive, his time would have been up for sure this Friday. He is said to be very friendly, very agile, can scale a 5 foot fence, and could be cat friendly. More news when Orson arrives....

He was in holding kennels from the 31st May, and probably had name changes to keep him alive. I think he will be okay with a name change Kate.

Sounds good to me - have to remind me though .... crap memory !!!! Well the boy has arrived - a big thank you to donna for bringing him all the way down to Alton ... it was lovely to finally meet someone from SLR - and i only got lost once !!!!!! He was the perfect traveller and quiet as a mouse... The name Orson definately didnt suit him, nor the name Roo - so he is now called 'Bruce Almighty'..... it suits him perfectly .... he is my BIG Brucey Bonus.... who as we speak is laying very heavily on my feet !!!! Het met my boys perfectly and christened the garden about 100 times !!! He was introduced to the cats and was slightly interested (had a muzzle on) but not overly so there is hope there.... he has also met the stunt children and paid no attention to them at all. In the short time i have had him I realise he is a very clever boy - very food motivated so will be great to train. Put him in his crate for some time out and he was perfectly behaved .... he is going to be an asset to any family. He has just had a wander and returned back to my toes - loves his foster mummy already .... Am meeting my dog walking friend Nikki at 6.30 to take boys out for a long walk - she has two greyhounds. Will take some more photo's tomorrow after he has been to Nikki for a good scrub (she is a dog groomer)... hopefully he will smell a bit better after that Will keep everyone up to date on his progress - but so far so good (could be my famous last words!!!!) ;D Kate, Indy, Dodger & Bruce

First night was brilliant - we went for a long walk last night where he met lots of different dogs and loved them all .... He spent the evening either laying on the rug or in the bed next to Indy.... One of the cats was asleep on the sofa, he went up nudged him then wandered back to bed ... he responds very well to the 'Ah Ah' sound. I didnt crate him last night - he slept in the playroom with Indy and a stair gate... put them in there at 10.30 and not a peep out of either till 7.30 this morning. He was clean over night too... As I came down the stairs he jumped over gate to greet me - bless him - he could have done that in the night but he was a good boy. He is definately not a dog for small children - my kids are fine (11 and 9) as he is a big boy ... saying that he has been an absolutely gentle giant ... cant believe he is so well behaved!!! He is coming out with me dog walking for the day so he will be exhausted for tonight - I cant believe i am so lucky with my first foster - he is a gorgeous, loveable, gentle, sweet, funny lumux of a boy xxxxxxxxxx

He has now been to dog groomers, where he was very well mannered, and had a good scrub in the bath - now my house smells a lot nicer ;D Well this boy is an absolute dream .... i had 6 kids for tea tonight and he was not bothered at all ... you tell him to go to his bed and he just does as he is told !!! unlike my other two He has spent the evening laying on his bed, welcomed all visitors men and women and children .... The only thing i will say is that he has accepted my male cat with no interest at all, but my little girlie cat he has chased twice .... but with no aggression just a bit of shouting !!!! no malice in him at all .... He is the perfect house guest .... I WILL NOT FAIL xxxxxx

.... quick up date on Brucey .... He is still being an absolute pleasure .... enjoys his five minutes of madness and then settles down in his bed. He is much more like a greyhound than a bouncy lurcher .... in other words he is a bit of a couch potato but loves his walks. He is walking loads better on the lead with the help of a harness .... He went off lead yesterday in an enclosed field and had a quick play with Indy but then just plodded on beside me. He has lovely manners and really is a big softy .... he has been no problem to the children what so ever, and ignores the cats when they are calm and in the house .... He is still chasing them if they run but my dogs do that anyway !!!! He is going to the vets on Wednesday to say goodbye to two things rather precious to him ..... plus to have all his vax etc , so healing thoughts for wednesday He really is no bother at all - he would suit a family (with not really small children) or an older couple ... I think he would be quite happy as an only dog or with another for company .... He was left for 3 hours yesterday so that we could go to the cinema - I put him in a crate and he was absolutely fine .... It was my lurcher who ate my sons cycle helmet Will update again on Wednesday .... Hope everyone is well xxx
