Emma came over this morning to collect little Hetty. Hetty was quite waggy and happy to see her. Just the one photo just before she departed, but Emma has promised to keep us updated and has joined the forum.

Hello from Hetty's new forever home. I've just browsed through the whole thread and have realised just how many of you have been following Hetty's story (or Netty, as you all know her). Sorry for making you wait so long fo an update... Life has been a bit hectic lately! Hetty is settling in brilliantly. She's been 'at home' from day one, eating, sleeping and cuddling like she's always belonged. She’s certainly loving the space and countryside – albeit from the end of her lead at the moment. It’s been a bit like the very early days of a new baby – lots of learning and a bit of hard graft but all very rewarding. She tested the garden’s fortifications to the limits and has ‘escaped’ 4 times so far. Needless to say, I'm a lot fitter having had to give chase!? Fortunately she seems keen to keep me within sight – even if there’s a 50 acre field between us. I know, given time, she’ll find her way home again but at the moment it just seems too early for roaming free. Hetty met my friends border terrier a couple of days ago and once the pecking order had been established (no prizes for guessing who came out on top) they really enjoyed tearing round the garden together. She's taken to sleeping in late over the last couple of days - the 6.30am start just (impposed by our littlies) is too much to keep up with. So there she lies, snoozing amongst the morning chaos ;D Hetty's completely besotted with my husband (and I’m sure the feelings mutual) and enjoys her evening cuddle with him. (She;'s curled up between us as I type!) My eldest daughter is definitely her ‘cuddle’ pal during the day and my younger daughter - whose only 2 1/2 - is learning how to respect Hertty and a strong bond is definitely developing between them; they can often be found sharing a story book or a chat. And I just think she’s an absolute poppet. She's just like my children – a good girl really, but always testing those boundaries! We are all so pleased to have been able to give Hetty her forever home. I've sent Jenny some photos she's kindly offered to post for me. I hope to get some of Hetty out and about on the farm soon, but it's a bit tricky at the moment while she's on the end on a lead!
