I was so thrilled when Sarah told me about Zia’s new family. It is Gem’s 3yr Gotcha Day today as well so I see that as a really positive sign ❤️ Be happy Gorgeous Girl and a massive well done to Sarah and Harpo xxx

Yay!!! I know Kevin and Leslie will make wonderful dog parents.
I'm looking forward to meeting Zia very soon. And cautiously optimistic that with careful introduction when she is ready, we might be able to encourage a beautiful friendship with Reg (who likes girls a lot better than boys!)

Thank you Ruthi as I believe you introduced the family to SLR. I don't think Lesley would mind me commenting that I think Zia may become a "daddy's girl". Zia loves people generally but there was an instant connection from the moment Kevin and Zia first met. I am sure she will love Reg as she has done with dogs she has been carefully introduced to. xx

Well done to you, Sarah for fostering her & helping her to become ready for a new life & forever home. Doubt Harpo will mind some peace now, no more thundering noises up & down the stairs. I think he may be enjoying the rest from play pestering and ambush! xx

Thanks Sarah. Yes it was me because I knew SLR would appreciate them. I'm not surprised Zia has attached herself to Kevin, he is the loveliest man, with the perfect aura! Leslie is lovely too, of course.
To be honest, it's Reg I worry about. He is such a boor with new dogs, but loves his special (girl) friends, and is the perfect gent with them.

I got the following report from Kevin earlier on Zia's first night in her new home. I suspect that her new family may have a different (earlier?) bedtime to mine, but what a clever girl for asking to go out! Hopefully it won't take her long to get used to her new bedtime and sleep through the night as she did every night she was with me. "She was rather puzzled when Lesley and I went to bed, but she too followed and went to her own bed. Not a sound until 4:30 am when she came to say she needed a wee, then straight back to bed again! So in all a successful first night!" Early days (and nights) but so far so good.

You did a brilliant job with Zia, Sarah. She’s the most affectionate girl but also challenging but you didn’t falter. Thanks to you she’s going to go from strength to strength and both Kevin and Lesley are going to give her the trust and security she needs. Be happy sweet Zia!

A lovely happy ending for this lass. Well done and thank you, once again, to everyone who contributed to her rescue and rehoming, especially her foster mum. I think she is going to have a great life with her new family.
