Another fun day in the life of the pupster Not a peep last night, even when I closed the bedroom door - not a single whine. Soooooooooo pleased to see me at 7.10 am and jumping up to . It is quite interesting taking the greetings of the hounds - I have the bruises and scratches to demonstrate the lovable chaos. Likes all food, with no apparent favourite yet. Is picking up weeing outside very well. Only 1 accident in the house today and that was when I was walking the other dogs. It looked liked she had been playing with Winnie and got excited. Poo'd on the puppy pad in the bedroom last night (or this morning), but she is only 10 weeks and times to poo will settle down as she grows. No other poo in the house during the day - what a clever girl. Jumps on me if I sit down and loves to play, especially chew Mum's sleeves. If she nips me, I give a pretend howl and she stops immediately. We play with lots of toys and, bless her, she will just suddenly fall asleep, worn out. Came in from the courtyard this morning with a rather brown nose, which I discovered came from her digging soil out of one of my tubs. Sits for her bowl of food and treats. Beats the daxies to vaccuming up crumbs left by the other dogs when they have fish chews etc. Very long body and likely to be very Saluki graceful and regal. Has been wearing her collar since I picked her up and very comfortable with it. When she starts going for walks, I like the Doodle Bone harnesses on the smaller dogs and she has a rather swish purple one waiting. Only chewing problem at present is a corner of a rug in the study, which she hones in on all the time. Will introduce her to the Vets this week for 2nd jabs - the nurses will adore her - I will take the beautiful Winnie as well for a quick check up of spay stitches and knee recovery. Onwards and upwards. Margey xxx

Lesley, we are so pleased that you are happy about Bella's new home - she is a joy (with very sharp teeth!). I don't do Facebook so thanks for letting me know that our joy is being shared. Giving Bella lots of kisses from you and her siblings. Another excellent night, without a peep. She is so excited in the mornings I will be taking more photos of course. I tried the jumper again this morning as it is cold and wet outside, but it was off again in 10 minutes - she needs to be slightly bigger. Love Margey xxx

I wasn't able to get a photo of it, but I just had to tell you that Bella and Winnie have been playing tug with Bruce. It was so lovely to see. Bella often plays tug when Bruce is asking for a playmate, but this afternoon, Bruce had long Sid the Snake and they ran from the lounge, past me in the kitchen and into the conservatory with Bruce on one end, Winnie on nearly the other end and Bella on the very end, having a really good game! Rudi only plays if he can get Bruce to drop the toy by barking and growling, so I was so pleased for Bruce that other hounds were really playing with him. Bella has kept her StokerHounds fleece on all day (it is very chilly here today) and I only had to put her front leg back in it once. She is also befriending the daxies, which is good. They will all sit on my lap together now and I caught Rosie licking Bella's face earlier on. Onwards and upwards. Love Margey xxx

Photobucket will not play at the moment due to our rural broadband and I have a lovely short video of Bella playing tug with Brucie boy. So just a quick update. Bella continues to be absolutely brilliant at night, sharing a room with Winnie, the daxies, Taz and Kirk. They go to bed at 10 pm and I get them up between 6.45 am and 7.15 am, but that is my choice, no-one murmurs until they hear me. Bella runs out under the others and jumps up to me and hold on to anything she can get hold of, so I usually hold her like a baby while all the rest say their lively good morning. Her and Winnie have become very lively noisey playmates and when Bruce joins in, I thank goodness that we don't have any neighbours. Toiletting is just brilliant - I had such a challenging time with Rudi and the 2 daxies when they were puppies, that I consider Bella to be so easy. She wees after her meals and during the day the door is often open, so takes herself out for any more wees and poos. Usually a wee on the puppy pad during the night but I am not complaining at that! The daxies often do that still even at nearly 4 years old. Today we went to the vet for 2nd vax and she was really good in the car. I took the estate car with doggy comforts in the back rather than in a crate, and she only moaned a tiny bit. She was looking out the back on 'tip toe' and I think the cars behind must have thought that she was really sweet. She was so well behaved in the vet and took her vax without reacting. She was wary of seeing different people and I had to carry her from the car and back to the car as she kept holding back, but hey, she is very little. Having said that, she has put on 2 kilos in the last 2 weeks and now weighs in at 7.1 kilos. She is fearless, not only with the other dogs, but the vacuum cleaner does not bother her nor the washing machine or tumble dryer. She looks at the washing machine sometimes, but is not very interested. Going to start some grooming tomorrow, and a little toothclean. She is learning 'no' and 'enough'. Cannot praise her enough. She is one lovely little doglet Love Margey xxx

So sorry everyone that an update has been so long. We are having increasing problems with our rural broadband upload speeds and BT's final answer is that nothing else can be done whilst we remain on a normal telephone line - no upgrades planned for this area for years to come. So, having to get different folk to help put stuff on photobucket, but cannot send any short videos for posting as they will not upload even to an e-mail. Such a shame as I have a lovely one of Bella and Brucie boy playing. Hopefully my latest attempt to send photos to Jenny will work and some more photos will be posted. So ................. our belle Bella! I will try to precis as I can easily write a novel about anything. Bella is growing taller and longer - the fleece I bought for collecting her is now quite short down her back. She is great at night, sleeps through every night although with partner in crime Winnie, if they do wake up before I do, they will 'play' with anything in reach. I have had to remove anything on show in the doggy bedroom or put it really high. Grooming brushes are popular and anything in a box so that the box can be chewed. She loves the gardens and should be on a tv property programme as she knows exactly how to bring the garden into the house. Almond nut shells (she must find the squirrels stash), twigs and sometimes branches when the wind has been strong, huge cones and a lot of grass and mud. I find bits and pieces in every bed and have to hoover as the other dogs would be very uncomfortable! She chews but does like chew toys so we can usually distract her away from the skirting boards or the dining table legs. Rudi chewed the piano pedal unit when he was a pup so we had already covered that and the piano legs with strong cardboard. She is very confident and fiesty. She is not afraid of the other dogs even if they bark and she has quite a mature bark herself, which she uses to get her way. She tries very hard to get Rudi to leave his food by barking at him, but he does not budge. She loves to play tug with Bruce, she play fights with Rudi, she kisses and licks Kirk (he does not really play) and she tries to and lick Taz, which he sometimes tolerates. Bella and Winnie play rough and tumble a lot, especially when they first get up. Bella will join most of the other dogs in a bed and Rudi tolerates her, which he does not with any of the others. She has really won the daxies over and they play and groom each other a lot and Joey particularly does not mind her getting in bed with him. She loves her food, especially kibble with puppy pouch meat on top. Not so keen on scrambled egg but still likes Weetabix. She is a little terror with treats. When the big dogs have their lunch time treats she will try to get them and if they drop anything, she is in and off. She has tried carrot, but not too interested (the other treats are much tastier) and had a little bit of banana today which she sort of ate and played with. She throws things around to chase them and can play quite happily on her own for a while if the others are all asleep. House training has been good - not totally without incident, but generally very good and consistent. She still has her 'Grommit' ears and her beautiful sit. She can be very vocal - at the moment she is in the study with me and bored because the others are all napping so she is roaching and making a racket - probably because it is time for her final meal of the day. She is also very vocal when playing with the others and is always in the midst of a 'bundle' giving it her all. She runs Winnie ragged and can often be found hanging by her teeth from Winnie's martingale collar. She loves being outside and gets very frustrated that she cannot run in the big garden yet. I don't think it will be long as she is fiesty enough to hold her own with the others. She loves a cuddle and sleep on my lap, regardless of who is already on my lap and just climbs over them. She is mouthing me less and understands 'no' and 'enough' very well! She is now chewing the handles on my office chair and has made the back collapse in on me! For me the 2 new additions have brought some challenges. It was always difficult to walk around without having 6 dogs follow me or step in front of me, or knock me out of the way - now I have 8 and it takes a long while to run the gauntlet through the house. When I open the kitchen door to let them out in the mornings, I have to walk up the path to open the courtyard gate and I wonder if you can picture me snaking around prancing dogs whilst Bella hangs from my dressing gown belt with her teeth and Winnie tries to me. The first few mornings, Bella tried to swallow my face and I had bite marks on my nose! When I sit down, I have at least 5 dogs try to get on my lap, or my head. Brucie and Rudi are very jealous and come and lick me to get my attention so I have to multitask to satisfy them all. I sign with relief when I can get into the sanctuary of the bedroom!! Bella has been on lead a couple of times in the big garden and we will be doing some lead training way before she goes out for a proper walk as we don't have pavements here and often no verge to speak of and with the farmers' fields being truly waterlogged, walking would be very hazardous. Onwards and upwards! A few pictures to start, but now 2 weeks old
