OMG. Margey will love those photos. She has just rung to say that after Bella whining for the first 50 miles, she slept for a while (heaven) and then started whining in the last few miles. Winnie sat in the back quietly, but did at one point get concerned for Bella whining. Both have had dinner, both woofed it down and both have poo'd.
Margey, you are a saint. I really think that you should change your Avatar name to Madamdoolittle, or Margeydoolittle!! Margey is shattered and wants to eat now so will post tomorrow.

Rather too busy this morning to take photos yet, but will later. After a loud and very slow journey home, due to traffic, Belle soon explored the whole downstairs of the house whilst I prepared her much needed meal. Within 10 minutes she had wee'd and poo'd in the living room, but easily forgiven for the complete change of routine. The reaction of the gang was mixed, but positive. Lots of sniffing and Bruce immediately started play bowing, which is enough to frighten the strongest of hounds. I need to let you all know that I have changed her name slightly. I found from the outset that I had a tendency to call her Bella, so just a little change. Bella woofed her food and spent the evening alternating between following the other dogs, exploring or sitting in my lap. She easily jumps on the sofa. She liked to nestle with me and Winnie and cuddled closer to Winnie, who was ok with it most of the time, but rather fidgety in the legs - Bella did not move though. The final lights out was quite late, about midnight, and she barely cried - just a minute really, and then again for a minute, but with some scratching at bedroom door, when Rudi got us up at 4.30 am. She goes outside a lot, because of the others, but doesn't often do any 'businees' out there at the moment. We separated the gang from the newbies at bedtime as the big dogs go right outside in the big garden and then when they were finished, Winnie and Bella went into the courtyard and Bella did a big wee and Winnie, after much sniffing to find the right spot, also did her wee. This morning she woofed her food, and wanted the big dogs food, so certainly has her appetite. All the hounds are having a snooze right now, however the moment I rise from the computer, M Doolittle will be followed by 8 hounds of various sizes. Going to have my scrambled egg now! Love Margey xxx

Well Mrs. Doolittle, you certainly have that pack now. I shut my eyes and can remember yours and can see them all together. Beautiful dogs. Now who will rule the roost we wonder?

I am so sorry to keep you all waiting for some photos. I have now managed to get them into my computer photos and trying to upload to Photobucket however our rural broadband here is less than 1 mb - I get a big reduction from BT due to the snail pace, but that does not help when actually trying to use it. Added to that, Winnie accidentally knocked the phone and hub to the floor and the hub broke, so we have been completely without internet connection, but up and running again now. So, for a written update about Bella - Bella and Winnie joined the daxies and Taz in the 'doggie bedroom' last night with Kirk coming out to make room as he is good at night and has joined Rudi and Bruce in the more open space. Rudi and Bruce often get us up in the night and that disturbed Winnie and Bella on the first night. Bella cried for about 2 minutes and then all was quiet until I got everyone up at 7.10 am. Bella and Winnie were ecstatic to see me and I nearly got knocked over. Bella was just so excited, jumping, kissing, jumping some more. There was a wee on the puppy pad and some poo, but not sure the poo was Bella, anyway, no big problem. Bella is lively and inquisitive and just loves her food. She is very confident, to the extent that she tugged the end of Brucies snake toy and played tug with him. He adjusted his normal manic tugging and it was so sweet to see. The daxies are a bit wary of her. Bella just joined Rosie in a bed and Rosie immediately left. Bella is so confident that she dives into every food bowl, regardless of who is eating. The others tolerate her doing this, which I cannot of course and with 7 others to watch, I have to put her in another room whilst they eat. When she is bigger, they will all eat together. She also swipes their treats if they put them down for a moment, but it is easy to get them back from her and tell her 'no'. We had similar toleranace with Rudi. I was so hoping that the older dogs would tell him if he went too far, but they never really did and he got away with a lot - not food, which we oversaw, but 'ruling the roost'. Rudi has not taken much notice of Bella, but has been fine with Winnie. Bella comes for a cuddle and sleep when I sit down and does not mind if the daxies also get on my lap, but the daxies do, so we muddle through somehow. Today I was upstairs in the bathroom brushing my teeth and heard little paws on the stairs, she had ducked under our barrier (we cannot fit a stair gate due to the weird shape at the bottom of the stairs) and went up (and down) 8 stairs. She was only put off by the 9th stair because it turns a corner and is steeper than the others. I have adjusted the barrier as the 2 bedrooms upstairs are the only place that are dog free zones! She is an absolute joy. She is chewing corners of dog beds and rugs, of course, and can carry quite big objects around, but she is not naughty, just very playful and full of joy. Rowan, she does not seem to be missing Bear, but then with 7 others here, she has a pick of playmates. Her and Winnie are quite close and Bella will go for a cuddle with anyone! Lesley, she is such a credit to you - such a well balanced pupster. Onwards and upwards Love Margey xxx

Well Margey, you sound as if you and Bella are doing just fine. She is such a little love. I'm so glad that you have taken her into your fold. Thank you. The last photo that Rowan posted of you and her made me cry with relief, your affection towards her was so obvious. All I've ever wanted for the puppies is for them to have good lives and to be loved. I see that this is what is going to be for Bella, thanks to Jenny and all you wonderful ladies, Rowan and Nancy to name few. All the very best Lesley x x x

Wow what a fantastic update Margey. You certainly need to be organised with that pack! It sounds like Bella is fitting in well. I am sure the daxies will accept her eventually.
