Reggie (10 months old) was advertised on an internet site, free to good home. Ruth couldn't bear for him to go to the wrong home so offered to take him on and then contacted SLR to see if we could back him if she fostered. I went over to meet the lovely Reggie today - and he is gorgeous in every way. He is going to be a big boy. Already around 26" to the shoulder. Orange brindle and all legs at the moment. Poor Reggie came in with Ringworm, so Ruth is administering Malaseb every day until he shows signs of losing the fungus. He is not in your face, is totally gorgeous, doesn't bark at you and just wants to play with toys. He may need that (unwanted baggage) removing very shortly as he wants to bonk his fostering family! An all round gorgeous boy. I'll leave Ruth to fill you in on his character.

I wish the government would ban the sale of or 'free to a good home' on internet sites. Dogs are not items. Grrr Anyway, thank doG Reggie is safe and TOTALLY GAWJUS!! Love brindles. ♡♡♡ Thank you Ruth for getting this boy to safety and SLR for supporting him.

It's a pleasure to be fostering Reggie. He is a real angel and very easy to have around. He is a happy soul, very loving and sweet-natured. But it is true, he does want to bonk sometimes, particularly one of my other dogs who isn't so keen. But when told to stop it, he does. I think he's just so happy it's his way of showing it. Reggie is great with other dogs he's met, however since learning ringworm is contagious he's not been able to meet any more dogs. The other day as we were walking, a pack of five poodles barked at him and one of my other dogs from a distance and Reggie was great, paying them no attention. He's met our cats and he was very calm and respectful of them and showed no interest, but now I've had to put further cat introductions on hold because of his ringworm. He has displayed some prey-drive while out by showing interest to sounds and movements in bushes and wildlife in the woods. So I'm not sure how he might be with a cat outside even if they are okay together in the house. He also hasn't yet seen my cats move, so it's too early to say whether he is cat-friendly for now. He's been completely houseclean since I picked him up from his previous owner last week, but I was told he was regularly having toilet accidents in their house. I think this is because he was suffering separation anxiety while they were at work, and their coming back to give him a walk at lunchtime to break up the day wasn't enough for him. I do take him outside regularly and he does his toilet business on command - and after he is delighted with himself for being such a good boy. I was told he suffered from separation anxiety in his last home and he has displayed that here but only mildly with gentle crying, nothing destructive or severe. So I'm working on leaving him longer in the company of my dogs. He's stopped panicking when I go into a different room for a short time, but he has jumped a metre high stair gate a number of times, though he's improving all the time and responding well to being told to "stay". He does "sit" and "give paw", he's not so sure on "down" yet. He likes his crate, which I leave with the door open and he sometimes chooses to lie down in there rather the sofa, chair or on a rug, but he likes being on those places too and snuggling with my dogs, me and my children, and any guests who are visiting. He does love his cuddles. He does cry at first when he's left and I haven't left him for longer than an hour so far and mostly I've gone in the garden or upstairs so I've heard him cry, but then he does settle after 20 mins or so. He also takes about this time to settle at night, but then sleeps quietly and is completely clean through to the morning. He's been great with my children, but they are older and adult size. He hasn't met young children yet, but he's so sweet-natured, I'm confident he'd be great with respectful, gentle children. He can be quite bouncy, so maybe not too small in case he knocked a little one over. He travels well in the car, likes meeting and snuggling with all the new people he's met - male and female. He also loves his toys, but is very good and hasn't tried to chew or play with anything that is not a doggie toy. He will definitely need the company of at least one other dog in his new home and someone who is around most of the time. He's not needy, as Jenny says he's not in your face, but he likes his people to be close by. He also loves bitey-face and has some great stand-up, ballroom-dancing-esque moves.

Reggie's just a little bit gorgeous by the sound of it. Lovely photo's too. You might find he's happier to go in his crate even more if it's covered with a blanket and den-like. Sending some bugger orf ringworm vibes just for good measure.

My photos aren't a patch on Ruth's photos but just a couple of him playing with his rope toy and laying quietly in the hallway. A lovely lad.

Thank you for the good wishes on Reggie's ringworm clearing up. Since using the malaseb shampoo, it's stopped bothering him and definitely improving. When he first got here he was licking the area a lot and that's all stopped now, so fingers crossed he makes a good and quick recovery from it. I've covered his crate with a blanket, I'd forgotten about doing that, so thank you for the reminder. My brain doesn't always link things together. While wondering what blanket to use, I realised I was staring at one in front of me covering a worn out footstool in the lounge! I think he likes it even better now. The last two nights, Reggie hasn't cried at all when I've gone upstairs to bed. He has also been improving on being left without crying when I've gone upstairs during the day for just under an hour, and earlier when I went out with one of my other dogs for about 10 minutes, Reggie was completely quiet when I got back. He only jumped the stair gate once yesterday, and today he hasn't jumped it all when I've left the room. He's such a good boy. He met my neighbour's Westie yesterday at a distance and passed a few other dogs out walking and he's such a friendly, happy soul he just wants to say hello to everyone, but he's very good about not being able to for now. He loves a carrot for a treat and is the tidiest carrot eater in our house. He also likes clearing up the crumbs of carrots my two leave. I forgot to mention in his first write up that he's not bothered by household noises like the vacuum cleaner, and my washing machine - which at the end of a cycle sounds like an aeroplane is taking off from my kitchen. His fur is also super soft, maybe that's his breeding mix or his age, I don't know, but he's so lovely to stroke. He comes and puts his head in your lap for ear rubs. He's a very affectionate and loving boy.
