Great news. Really hope this is for keeps, sounds promising. Well done to Simon and Helen for bringing him do far. Well done Ringo and Joey for teaching Theo the rules in doggy land. Hope to see you both at the next walk.

Thanks all for the well wishes and congratulations. I feel the praise isn't all due and in truth it hasn't always been calm and patient. What we did most, by a large margin, was nothing. Theo wasn't 'broken'. SLR sees many others that are. He wasn't abused or neglected in his previous life, from whence his family gave him into our care for his benefit. Perhaps only socialisation was lacking. And then, perhaps only the right kind and the right time in his life. Such seems a very common 'issue' with many dogs, not just rescues. It was for Ringo and that was the main and remains a reason we love the SLR walks. Theo, fka Patxi, fka Louis, has had more name changes than issues. We just punched his ticket and kicked him off at the right stop. .... Hopefully!

You make socialising and under-socialised dog sound SO straightforward Simon - which it absolutely isn't! I think you and Helen, Ringo and Joey are stars and have done an amazing job with Paxti aka Theo Everything crossed that this will be P/T's Forever family

I'm a bit behind on this good news :-) So pleased to hear that Theo is on the road to his very own sofa! The humans of SLR never cease to amaze me with their patience and kindness. Well done all involved :-)

You make socialising and under-socialised dog sound SO straightforward Simon - which it absolutely isn't! I...... Ah, didn't mean to do that. No, that ain't easy to do. It's just that we only just started to start that process. We mostly did the preparatory chill-out to make the socialisation more possible In fact, one of the many things Theo's taught me is that, for over excited, maybe anxious dogs, you teach the dog to relax themselves before starting the socialisation. The more one learns, the more ignorant one realise one is.

Totally agree. Anyone who says they know everything about dogs is an IDIOT - there is always more to learn every day.

I went for a lovely walk today on Stonebarrow with Bridget, Carly and Theo. What a smashing little dog he is. He is already very responsive to his new name and his recall was brilliant. He got on great with my three especially Finnegan, the two boys had a bit of a bromance going on. In fact the one who had to be regularly put on the lead for being naughty was Molly!!! She was getting very jealous of her brother and kept shouting in Theo's ear. He is still reactive to dogs whilst on the lead, but Bridget has booked him in for some one to one training with a local woman who has quite a good reputation. The puss cat situation is still work in progress but things are improving. Here are some pics With his new Mum and sister Waiting for my 3 to be let out of the car Sniffing with Finn Pre racey chasey A drink break
