In tears here. Just brilliant to see this very special girl so relaxed. What a wonderful turnaround for Maisie. As Toni said, coal-bunker to sofa in just a few days - this really IS what rescue is all about. Thanks again to Jenny, Brenda, Steve and all who have made Maisie's new life possible

Maisie went for a little walk' this morning. Just 15/20 mins down to our local pub/caravan site. She saw cars and lorries, sheep and bunnies. The first two she wasn't a bit bothered about, the second two got her attention! She looked so cute in her little coat and trotted along sniffing and taking it all in.She's now zonked out in her bed xx

I met little Maisie today what a tiny girl she is and so thin, her waist is just under 33cm or 13". After all she has been through she is still very bold and loving, she really enjoys a bit of a fuss. She is a little gem of a hound.

I get a lump in my throat every time I read your updates on this precious little girl. You're doing such a wonderful thing taking her in and building her up so that the special character she has can come through.

So glad you've seen for yourself Rod what a very special little girl Maisie is I think it's fair to say that everyone involved in her transport run fell in love with her and had the sense of a hound who is VERY special BTW Dilys hasn't yet forgiven me for not realising quickly enough that I could have asked people if they were willing to add her and Ridley to the transport run. The two of them could have come to visit Riley for Easter

Well, Maisie has been here just over a week and there have been many changes for her. I had to take her to see her vet again on Saturday morning to get some stuff to get her squits under control and that seems to be helping. I've been giving her chicken and rice pretty much the whole time I've had her but I think things are slowly improving. I will add very small amounts of sensitive food in over the next few days, so fingers crossed this doesn't put things back. Her eyes are a bit better and although I can see an improvement in her poor ear, there is still much foul-looking gunk that comes out when she shakes her head after I've put in the meds. This will take some time to clear up methinks, so a few vibes for that and for the feathering to grow back would be much appreciated. Now that she is starting to put a bit of weight on and is considerably cleaner and sweeter smelling, I've had time to look at other parts of her poor little body. She has lots of lumps and bumps and bald patches from living on concrete. She has a couple of tiny cyst-like things on her side and a bit of a problem with one knee that will need a bit of investigating. Despite all this, she is a sunny little girl who wags her not-very hairy tail at every opportunity. She was oohhed and aaahed over by many folk at All About Dogs yesterday and took it all in her stride. She met the beautiful Paddy and approved the boy so will get a trip over to play with him later in the week.
