Yet another case of very dry eyes here.
I remember Stanstead...

That's the silver good citizen's award - the next one up. Well done Comet. Well done for spotting it was his silver ribbon (rather than the bronze as was posted previously)! He's been trying hard at classes and secured his silver status early July. Unfortunately though neither he nor Snoop passed the [tough] end of term assessment to qualify for the next class. Snoop turned stubborn and ignored all sit & stay commands. Comet tried harder but likes to lie instead of sit. The judge was unforgiving. Still we had fun and they enjoyed the copious treats on school nights!

I think even for a lot of lurchers/long dogs who can sit, an extended sit can cause discomfort.

Comet has be abducted and replaced by something that looks like him. Certainly not the same dog collected from Stanstead Airport a while back... Here is the imposter at today's meet 'n' greet street collection in Guildford. With his, or would be his, if it was him, foster buddy Not as anxious as the real Comet would be. Such a poor impersonation that any fool could see through. Maybe only Annette/Neil (foster mum/dad) and Dave (transport run) might get the extent of the transformation. Bloomin' marvellous, if it wasn't in doubt and alien intervention suspected!

You are totally right Simon, that's definitely not the Comet I met at Celia Cross last year. Those dog-swoppers didn't even get close What a transformation

I am so happy to see how chilled Comet is nowadays. Kerry and Stefffan are obviously giving him every opportunity to become as well adjusted as it is possible to be. Absolutley wonderful.

It was a real pleasure to see how well Comet is doing. He and Snoops make a great pair, and they both did SLR proud with their ambassador activities yesterday.

Completely agree ,they were both great yesterday ,Kerry was worried about Snoop but he was a dream with his mate Comet getting lots of strokes between them ,

Thanks for the feedback about Comet.
He was a very content little boy when he joined us from Annette & Neil (and their pack) and has continued to grow in confidence this past year, I think mainly due to our good fortune with having a huge garden that he & Snoop can romp around in safely & freely. He also goes to daycare once a week as part of his socialisation. When he arrived there he was labelled as the field boss and was reluctant to mix, but rather spent his time tailgating Snoop. Nowadays he is very relaxed, has a wide range of doggy mates and apparently loves looking after the puppies and young dogs. The daycare ladies sing his praises very highly. Similarly he is a lot less likely to snap at other dogs when out & about, which I'm pretty sure is a direct association to his socialisation at daycare.
He & Snoop are very fond of each other. If Comet decides to wander off whilst out on walks (very rare these days), then Snoop (who is a little homeboy) will go and round him up. Conversely, Snoop is still growing-up emotionally and I think Comet's calm nature is helping him become more steady and less emotionally needy. They are very well matched and love playing and zooming together...several times a day, every day. Oftentimes with Comet jumping on Snoop's back while they play bitey face & bitey body. They have a bit of a "routine" they follow in their chase games, so we'll try to capture it on film as it's quite amusing to watch.

I am hoping this movie of Comet at day care today (in his orange coat) posts OK - I stole it from Facebook. Seems that he no longer needs to tag behind Snoop all day and has his own mates. The day care team constantly marvel how well he is doing. Needless to say I am completely choked with admiration for the chap. Don't get me wrong, I love my loopy Snoopy, but Comet is something special. Steffan
