It's hard to ignore them, but the best way to get them out of S.A. is not to make a fuss, not to allow them up on sofas for cuddles, laps for cuddles, and not to talk to them when you arrive home, so that they don't think that you have missed them. Making a den in a crate will make her feel secure. And try the old freezing a kong hint. Mix pilchards and her complete together and stuff the kong in the evening, freeze overnight and leave her to work her way through it during the morning. Brain work is tiring as well as physical exercise. She is beautiful. Did she like the bath?

We've been out a couple of times today for and hour, then for 10 mins and we ignored her when we got in until she had calmed down. G is out getting curry now and she started to fuss, I have ignored her and she seems a bit calmer.
We'll get there I just feel for her. And my neighbour.
She didn't mind her bath. She's a gorgeous lass. She is just very anxious.

We left Daisy again today for a while and filmed her again and there is some improvement already! It took her longer to realise we had gone. She looked at us from the window but there was no whining or howling after this (The video only runs for about 12 minutes). She did do some barking but that may well have been at the neighbours kids! There was some mess in the house but one step at a time. A crate may well help this little one. We have been very calm with her, no massive cuddles, affection but totally on our terms, no sofas. We ignore her when we come in - she goes nuts - and don't make a fuss when we leave. Tomorrow and Wednesday she is going to work with G and Thursday and Friday my mum is over but they are both under strict instruction. We will leave her again in the evening for a while to try and get her used to it. This morning she was happily laying in the garden while G and I were in different parts of the house. So that in itself is an improvement. This is only the 5th night with us. She got to us Thursday evening so she has had A LOT to contend with in a short period of time and I really think she is doing well. So many changes from no love, no affection to suddenly 2 greyhounds, love, being in a house right down to getting vet treatment. She is VERY calm in the house now. I will post a photo in a bit to show you how calm. She is super smart and I think with the right person she will be just fine and should adjust quickly. She came to the pub for a swift half today and met a couple of dogs and she was a little nervous - they were BIG - but she was ok with them, she is submissive and she hasn't got a bad bone in her body. She really is very trainable and will make a lovely dog. If we had more time and money (and if we didn't have a human puppy on the way) I'd love to keep her but she does deserve someone who is around more than we are. She deserves the best totally. She is amazing.

One thing I will say about this dog she does so want to please.
Love her heart she's gone from no attention to having love and it's a bit much.
She went off quite happily with G this morning and G loves it really.

You are doing a lovely job with Daisy, Tina and Graham, by not only giving her love but also the confidence to trust you. As you said it has been a huge change for her in only five days she has been with you; she has realised that humans CAN be kind and so is trying hard to please you. Thanks for those lovely piccies showing her with your pack, Tina. She seems to settle in very well, and Daisy may well take to the introduction of a crate (filled with toys and a kong filled with lovely treats) which might further improve her confidence - as long as somebody is around to start with. Viviane. X

Everyone that meets this girl falls for her. Gorgeous does not even come close. We're having a couple of mishaps in the house and we need to work a little on house training - she manages to go by the back or front doors but has yet to learn to ask to go out but this has been only a couple of times. Asides from when she is left alone she is mainly clean. Another trip to the vets yesterday (to see a decent vet and have a PROPER check up) and she was booked in this morning to be neutered but then came into season last night So it's back to work with G today. Neither seemed to mind. Vet says she is a little underweight. Other than that no concerns (except the ear mites which we are treating and while she squirms a bit when we treat her she is very good) teeth are pretty good. Seems like considering she was so neglected she has come out fairly unscathed physically. Her coat is lovely. She is sleeping soundly through the night and doesn't wake. In fact she is so calm in the house and will happily lay on her bed at your feet. She does love company though and is still inclined to follow Graham about. She follows comands for 'off' 'sit' 'paw' 'on your bed' and responds to her name. If in doubt she will lay down and do a half roach - very submissive. The only stumbling block with this one is the SA. Other than that she is a perfect little package and quite frankly I'm not suprised she has SA.

Sadly the home for Daisy has fallen through. One of their older dogs has fallen very ill and they have had to put on hold taking in another dog. We hope he will be okay. xx

Breakthrough. I'm recognising signs that Daisy wants to go out and last night she padded round to my side of the bed to wake me up to go outside to the loo. So proud of her.
We've had quite a few people round - my mum, aunt (who isn't really into dogs) Gs dad, sister, brother in law and every one of them has said how lovely she is. Daisy loves people and so wants to please.
What a poppet.

Daisy is moving foster homes tomorrow as we both work full time and it's too much on this little lass. We will miss her dearly as she really has won our hearts but we know she will be safe and happy in a new foster home while she waits for her forever home.

That's what we think about Daisy too. My greys Arnold and grumpy and sal had been brilliant with her but at 11 they are not quite on the same wave length.

Well daisy has had a busy few days settling into our house with her new foster sister Suzi and has been having great fun playing. She has been so good here and has just slipped into our routine. She is fantastic out on walks and never pulls on lead, she has been 100% clean in the house so far, and is fantastic with my other small dogs and my kids. She does get a little vocal when I go out to work for a few hours which we will be working on. Here is a couple of photos I have taken today but I will add more asap. Here is Daisy with Suzi waiting for a treat! Daisy and Suzi trying to share a bed after a busy day in the garden!

Bless her little heart. She does like a lay in the sun. She looks so happy, my two grudgingly let her lay close to them. Looks like the move has suited her.
She's just gorgeous isn't she.
Ear ruffles to the pack esp the lovely Daisy
