Glad everything went well with her op, don't envy you trying to keep her quiet for long though

Dezzie woke up at 6am this morning whining in her crate. Very unusual for her so I went down to see what was up. She leapt (yeah - I know - no leaping about...) out of the cage, went into the garden, pranced about for a bit (ditto - no prancing about), ran up the stairs (you can see I was really on the ball) jumped onto the bed (I was half asleep - OK!!!!!!!!!!!!) and got into bed with . She looked like she was about to investigate her stitches so we tucked her up in a blanket with her head poking out so she couldn't get to them. Then we all went back to sleep for another hour. I think she was bored and lonely after yesterday.

Well - we certainly haven't bothered with the lead! She acts like a maniac on one and as we've been pretty snowy here which after an initial investigation has been designated cold and not worth hanging around in... she's not wanted to be outside a great deal. Fortunately, we don't get a great deal of lurcher play between the dogs. Dezzie likes to play with humans so as we're not playing, she's generally been sleeping and pottering. She's been a bit subdued today. Not chasing her toys or being in our faces as much so I think she probably hurts a bit. Dezzie also loves her crate so she's spent a lot of time in there today. Both Tilly and Dezzie choose to go in them all the time but the doors are only shut to keep Charlie away from Tilly and at night. Something that happened earlier in the week, which I took for granted, was pointed out to me today which really sums Dezzie up. We're very lucky because we live in a fairly isolated area with a 4 acre field directly behind our house. We went for a play on the field with D&T's visitors. Dezzie went straight out the gate and the visitors, with previous lurcher experience, were anticipating that Dezzie would be in Norfolk! We rounded the corner and she was waiting for us, standing on the edge of the field with this "hurry up, hurry up... I want to PLAY!!!!" look on her face. That's Dezzie!

Sykes would have been in Yellowstone. And brought you back a caribou...

Bless him! I did fall rather in love with your gorgeous boy when we briefly met. At least you'll never starve!
Would not offer Tilly the same opportunities I must say. She was on a lead! Dezzie is just such a different character and her entire world revolves around a tennis ball.

Dear Person wot is in charge round here.
My name is Destern Desten... Dezzie. And I want to make a complaint.
Everything was going fine. Humans chucking balls on a regular basis. Lots of jumping on the bed, chasing the cats (OK, I wasn't allowed to chase the cats) and generally, the entertainment was pretty good. In return I did the sit thing and the fetch thing. I even did the down thing which lets face it, NO-ONE wants to do.
THEN... on Thursday I went to sleep, someone cut a hole in me and since then things have been crap rubbish. I am
BORED BORED BORED BORED [glow=red,2,300]BOOOOORED.[/glow]
No I do not want to play "find the treat". I do not want to practice "paw" and "sit" and "down". I do not want a pigs ear or anything like that. I WANT MY BALL BACK!!!!!!!!
This is a list of the things I am not allowed to do. I can't: jump up, jump down, run up the stairs, run down the stairs, leap about in the garden, go for a run. As for "chase the ball wot has been chucked MILES by Foster Dad." Well, that is a distant memory.
I am not Princess Tilly. She is very nice but all she does is SLEEEEP and gentle cuddle stuff. She won't play bitey face with me. She thinks toys are "beneath her dignity" (whatever that is).
I have started digging a hole which is BLINKING HARD cos the ground is icy and they've had escapee mad Cavaliers here before and they know all the escape routes.
So, person wot is in charge. Tell them HOOMANS... chuck the ball or the, the, the... shoes are gonna get it. And the gloves.

Dezzie was discovered this evening lying upside down with a squeezy tube of mayonnaise between her paws. She'd she'd managed to remove the lid and was squeezing the contents down her throat.
The men in my life were in charge. I was out.

Tonight I have had a mayo eating Dezzie, a tooth in a speciman jar that was removed from Tilly and Charlie doing an escape act. The gloves and the shoes will have to fend for themselves!!!!

Perhaps you should have the mayo yourself in a nice coronation chicken, make a fake tribal necklace with the tooth to sell on ebay and put the men in your life in the specimen jar.......
I assume no one in the house has ever really come up with a good explanation for the dog+mayo event, so this is a good chance to persuade them to confess!

Hey, guess what. Dezzie has discovered that tomato ketchup squeezy bottles work the same way as mayonnaise! What I have been trying to achieve for years (ie - please take your condiments back to the kitchen when eating in front of the telly) Dezzie has achieved in 24 hours. Could my next foster be a dirty laundry chewer please (that'll get the clothes into the laundry basket!!!

Bless her - she's a smart cookie!
I know Mamachipperchook is pretty good at satisfying people but Im not sure even she can specifically find you a laundry chewer...
Altho I could probably train Arthur....
