Day 2 I have to say that this dog does amaze me in his manner. He is going to make someone or hopefully a whole family very happy because he's just a lovely dog. He's never far from your side on a walk, quite unsure about lots of things and loves having a big hug and for a dog that's been a stray he's just amazing in his temperament. Romi is right in saying there isn't a bad bone in his body.
I did have a moment this evening when I was poised to phone Jenny and say the dog warden will be calling you about two stray lurchers - just crossed my mind as Jake and Kezzie were disappearing over the horizon in the field, dot size, at a speed I have not seen any dog run before and in a straight line. Jake infront, Kez, you've got to hand it to her, hot on his heels!!
Luckily they turned and came back at the same speed..... I thought I'd worn them out up the byway with Jake tearing up and down there but obviously not ! Leaders after their ops then! Kez can hardly get out of her bed tonight!!
Met the postman with great enthusiasm and apart from being a bit wingy when I go upstairs (think he's worrying it's bed time ) he's perfectly behaved in doors. Also settles well in the office with the others and although he sleeps with one eye on what I'm doing he's calmed down alot since first arrival.
He is all puppy in his ways and isn't very polite at times ... pushes past Basil and Kezzie to get in through the door and to be front of biscuit queue so has had a few telling offs which he doesn't like but takes in his stride. Also filled out a bit, could be something to do with eating my year's supply of pasta (thanks for tip Jenny). He's a big frame to fill.

Oooohh - He's a shineysmasher of a puplet!! Can't understand why the blackies are overlooked? I'd have a shineyshiney black coat any time. Any idea how old this love might be?
Goodness me...... if only Sprocket the rocket and Gizzy whizz were a bit older..........!!

He is having too much of a good time here ! Seriously though anyone reading this thinking you might like to have Jake - he is very much the puppy still and is looking for direction in all things. I don't think Kezzie is a great role model for him, she encourages the worst in every dog but he seems to think she's quite fun and follows her everywhere. Basil is too slow and boring for him. He would definitely benefit from a playmate of some sort and one with good behaviour would benefit him! He tends not to gallop off on his own but will run and play either with me or with Kez.
At the moment he's getting quite a few walks just because that's what I've always done with the others but only two 'blasts' a day which seems to keep him happy (and Kez exhausted!). He will play with a stick but much prefers to just hare around for 10 minutes.
He's also desparate for love and cuddles in a very puppy way and when he wants to go out for a wee he wines! Completely clean and tidy in the house. Just gangley and doesn't realise his size and consequently smaller dogs tend to get the long tail in their face quite often!
He's a blank canvas for someone to love him and mould him into a fabulous dog.
