Skip is coming out of the Vets today and thanks to Christina and Donna, he is being transported from Kent to Surrey for convalescing. Skip is only a baby, approximately 9/11 months old. He was thrown over the garden fence of a Pensioner in Kent at approximately 5 a.m. and she sat with him until 8 a.m. when she could get a friend to come and get him out of the slot he had fallen into between the fence and a low wall.
They took Skip to a local Vet who transferred him to their Top Vet for an operation to pin one broken rear leg and strap up the other rear leg as the ligaments have been torn. Skip had the broken leg when he was thrown over the garden fence.
Well his life will change now. I am sure that Donna will post piccies of Skip as soon as he is settled.
Skip is going to need lots of tlc, Vet treatments and some hydrotherapy on his back legs, and a loving and quiet forever home.

That poor pensioner as well. Sitting with him for three hours and it must have been sooo distressing!

I just don't know what to say, words can not express how terrible this is. But looking forward he is safe now and will be forever, he will learn again that people are and can be loving. Our healing thoughts are with you Skip. All our love,

I have the greatest respect for this wonderful old lady who sat with poor Skippy until somebody else could take that poor little mite to the vet, and was followed by a collection to help ease the burden........ These steps are steps of kindness by fellow people who care as much about mistreated animals as we do giving us all here the strength to carry on, in our own way......... You are in safe and caring hands now, Skippy. God bless you. Viviane. X

Days like today make me feel honoured and privileged. This little fella' has suffered appalingly over the last few days unyet he still has complete and utter trust in humans and the sunniest disposition And what's more, no matter what cruelty humans have inflicted on him, ultimately human kindness and compassion have prevailed. A huge thank you to Kitty (the 82 year old lady) who kept him company in those critical three hours, to Sally (Kitty's friend) who got him to the vets and alerted Jenny, to Jenny and Barney for bringing him under SLR's wing, to the surgeons and vetinary staff who worked so hard to put him back together again and to Christina who did a 3 hour round trip to get him from the vets. We'll post proper pictures and more info' tomorrow but, right now I'm off to enjoy some poopie cuddles ;D Edited to add: I've just read that back and realised that I'm practising for an oscar speech

Yes well done to everyone involved in getting Skip out of his misery and to a safe haven with Donna and Mark where I am sure he will get the best TLC a hound can have. Look forward to updates on the little fella.

Just to echo what everyone else has said. It's unbelievable that some people can be so horribly cruel and others so incredibly caring. He looks a little angel and will be having the best possible life from now on!
SLR is fantastic!!
