Isn't it fabulous when you just get that sense of 'meant to be' about an adoption. And something about those pictures says 'meant to be' Huge hugs and respect to Stacey and Clare for being able to let her go Oh it was definitely meant to be Donna. Just look at the adoration on the faces of the children She's one lucky, lucky little girl

Lovely little girl - and she's "frogdogging". Let me guess, there's a proper word for this, but I don't care, I think frogdogging is a good one! Romi. x

so it's called spatchcock! Stacey you have done such an amazing job with her, I let her off the lead for the 1st time, wonderful to watch again running free in large circles, I called her back & she came without jumping up! I was expecting to be knocked flying, how did you do that? they say no ones perfect but I honestly cannot fault her, shes even getting used to her crate when i'm on a school run, she was quite stressed the 1st time but since has slept in her very cosy bed, but wont eat her treats or kong till I get back, any tips on this training welcome xx

Doh the screens gone all blurry again ..... (we need a happy teary smiley) p.s. Rosie used to leave her treats until I got home too, but that passed with time, and the addition of another hound or two who would eat anything left laying around . I think once we stopped putting her in her crate and left her free to roam downstairs did the trick. When she hears the lid on the treat tub, she goes and lays on her bed in the lounge and waits for the treat, like she knows thats the sign for us going out with out her/them.

I'm so pleased its going so well. She really is a naturally lovely dog and training her was just fun. Anything really stinky and meaty she would always come back for and as she was approaching usually at 100mph!! I just dropped down onto one knee and rewarded her from that height. As time went by I stood up but kept the treat down low and she stopped jumping up in a matter of hours. Also she is such a fusspot and desperate for affection and if you kneel down to greet her and make a huge fuss of her when she returns she has no reason to jump up. I don't really know how? it just kind of worked but I was always concious that if she came to a family with children we had to make sure she didn't knock them over!! Keep having fun xxx
