Such a gentle girlie, took her to watch our boys hockey training lots of noise, shouting and fuss. She slept on a pile of coats. Then went into team teas for fuss and love and a few bits of cake I don't doubt!!

Took Toby and Barley ou this evening for an off the lead test. We have 8 tennis courts at school completely fenced in 12ft all round so thought there was probably the best place, well this is where we trained Toby. The two of them had a great time they must have ran well over 30 laps, there was a lot of noise but no grumpiness. Barley doesn't know her name yet....not suprising as she has only had it since Friday!! So was not too responsive to that, however she was very responsive to my whistle and even more so to a flat shepherds whistle. By the end of the hour she was coming back for a treat I would say a good 60% of the time. So I am very happy as I feel we have made some progress. I am mindful however that though there were a few distractions outside of the fenced area, people, cars and noises inside she only had to contend with Toby and various balls, soft toys and chewy things. I am sure she will respond very well to recall training. So now we have 2 shattered dogs and one happy but tired human. x

She met a cat today..........errr the less said the better it is definitely not a cat friendly situation. Small dogs yes, children in multiples yes, supersized bones yes. Cats no. Recall training is still going well she is understanding that returning to a whistle means lots of love and cuddles and maybe a little bit of a treat. Awwww I wish we could win the lottery and buy a bigger house! problem is everyone else keeps buying tickets and the machine keeps picking the wrong numbers humph!

Such a great update, I'm so pleased she's such a happy girl after her rubbish start in life. It must be lovely to be rewarded with such progress in such a short time. She's lovely. x

Two wonderful families were short-listed for Barley and it was such a difficult decision which one to go with as both would equally have been the best home, but what swung it was that we could see one family being equally as happy and delighted to have one of Jess's pups. Just a meeting to go now, but Barley is reserved to go and live in Kent. Another Kent contingent ladies. Oh... and so is Jess's pup going to Kent too. ;D
