What an amazing girlie Helen, I am so glad she is under your wing and that she is getting better each day. I look forward to watching and reading her story unfold, as you said she is so poorly that is isn't showing her true character but so far she is just perfect Sending you healing thoughts sweetheart x x

Little Izzie is still under assessment. From what we can gather she has been starved in her life and she is a real foodie. She snatches at food and wants to get her food first and anyone elses food second. Sometimes the dynamics of a foster home are not quite right to let the characters develop, and sometimes the resident dogs are over-whelmed. Poor Helen had a small incident yesterday where there was a fracar over treats, and little Tarka took fright. We never know what has happened to the poor lurchers that come into us, and as Izzie unfolds it is showing that she has had some bad treatment and trauma. She is a lovely lovely girlie, but it might be better to find her a foster home without other young dogs around, perhaps an older steady boy, or no dog around. We have homechecked some lovely people waiting for dogs, and perhaps one of them could be her foster home with a view to failing and keeping her. Please give Izzie a chance.

Please give Izzie a chance. Yes please someone do. She is an absolute diamond, it's humans fault she is like this. Yet still she is so trusting, she sits beautifully for treats and asks for cuddles all the time now. I think the only way to describe it, is the reason she's got to the grand old age of 7 months, is by fighting for every possible scrap she could. She's still so surprised when I give her food, but it's programmed in her head it'll be the last time. She lives alongside Tarks and Aoife with no problem at all. She doesn't pester them, she doesn't dominate them, she just leaves them alone. Unless she thinks they're going to get something she's not. It's like a button in her head. It's all changeable behviour I have no doubt, but with 2 small boys here, I dont know if I'm the best person for her to grow with. I dont want to give up on her, and hope thats not what people think I'm doing, I just think there will be somewhere better for her to grow and mature and not feel som threatened by my dogs. Somewhere quieter perhaps, with less hussle and bustle around so she has time to work things out, and learns not to act purly on instinct all the time. I do think she'd be very happy now as an only dog, as long as someone was around for a lot of the day. But she would need to be socialised constantly, so she learns other dogs are playmates, not a form of competition. Please give her a chance, she's a diamond waiting to shine

Here's a few more piccies of Izzie. What do you thiunk? Does she look slightly less worried? Be honest. She roached for the first time yesterday, typical I couldn't find the camera. Her snots have completely gone now, still a bit of a cough there, but they always linger dont they? She's still eating well, and is still so surprised when yet another dinner comes out. Have eddited to add. She is FANTASTIC with my boys. Now I know they are dog friendly, and wont take any rubbish, but she is so good with them. The only probem I have are when the other dogs are around, and she wouldn't think twice about arguing over the top of the boys. So it's not thats she's not kid friendly, it's more that she's a young dog acting on impulse and instinct. Also no matter how much this little lady has been starved, I've never seen her counter surf or bin raid. She knows where and what these all are, and knows they mean food, and will sit by the bin if I'm out in the kitchen, but has never just helped herself. She really is going to be a lovely well mannered girlie when she just unpacks her bags a bit Ooo and when she stretches in her sleep, she wags her little halfie tail. It's so sweet

Helen - she looks so much better Both mentally and physically Don't beat yourself up over finding her another foster home - you're doing what's best for her - how can that be wrong ((((hugs))))

I'll beat her up if she doesn't stop beating herself up. It's the dynamics of a foster home that have to be right just like the dynamics of finding the right forever home. And if it is not right it is not fair on the foster, residents dogs, or foster dog. Out there is someone who is just right for Izzie, and it would be better for her to go straight into that home with a view to fail. Helen is brilliant.

I'll beat her up if she doesn't stop beating herself up. Helen is brilliant. Thankyou Jenny. But it does make me feel cr*p I cant be what she needs. There are som many 'ifs'. If Tark wasn't such a whimp. If Iz would just think for 1 second longer. If I could have eyes in the back of my head. If those barstewards who she was with before hadn't reated her in such an awful way. Poor Iz. She really is such a gentle, loving dog. Easy enough for a retired couple too perhaps? She's not your typical 7 month old. Ooo adn the cat thing is coming on beautifully ;D She's sleeping on my feet at the moment, they're lovely and warm now

Well.......Izzie-Whizzy has been very busy today.
She came on a very nice homecheck with me.
I didn't know how she'd react, but she wagged at everyone and asked for strokes, showed everyone her sit and paw, and climbed into Nathalie's lap.
She then had a tour of the house, came back to the lounge where we were chatting, layed on the rug, roached, groaned and fell alseep.
Hmmmm..............................
