Pablo was absolutely brilliant. It was a first for us to have 5 of the rescues all together on the same day. And they were each and every one of them stunning. Pablo, you are lovely and just the right family will be along shortly......

Pablo your foster daddy missed an opportunity yesterday, Adam though you were lovely and your were so well behaved he kept on forgetting he was holding your lead (slightly different than what we are used to!!) they could have just sqeezed you in our shoulder bag for us to take home.... ;D

Pablo has gone to Hampshire on a week's trial, just to make sure he doesn't charge about knocking over children. He behaved impeccably when he was collected even having on off lead burst on the playing field. Be good, be happy, be off with you.

HI. just want to yet you all know that handsome Pablo is being an absolute angel and we are feeling that there is no way you will be getting him back!! We are all in love! He curled up and slept all the way home then got out the car had a good look around his new home then had a lovely play with the girls in the garden and is now fast asleep on his bed!
Will post some pictures when I figure out how to do it!
Many thanks to John and Viv for today and thanks for lovely Pablo.

Sorry to say that Pablo has blotted his copybook and is coming back to training camp. It's now apparent that he is unsure of other dogs when on his own and this makes walking him with a pushchair unsafe.

Such a shame. Events like the lunging are sometimes not apparent to anyone until a dog has gone to it's new home. They take their confidence from the dogs that they live with, and Jack and Honey being such laid back dogs will have made Pablo feel comfortable out and about. This is what happened to Ollie's first adopters. No-one can tell exactly what a dog is going to be like when it is in a different environment. Cai had the most severe separation anxiety going as an only dog to Suzanna, beyond belief despite anything Suzanna tried for him, but on returning to the Blackmore pack he is a different dog. Please don't beat yourselves up atbout it Rachel. Pablo will find his niche. Out there is a solid laid back training bitch, and it may be that Pablo needs that. Or.... you will just have to nick Honey off John.... but you would have to be a brave woman to get her. I'VE TRIED.

Pablo has now been back for 10 days. Although he pulls and hates his halti I have been unable to replicate the problems he had with Lurcherfan. Perhaps I should get a pushchair and do the morning walk to school. (I gave up walking the dogs between 8.30 and 9.10 because there are so many silly parents "protecting" their children from the "killer" dogs, or children bursting into tears at the thought of sharing the pavement, or children on bleep micro scooters that it wasn't worth the trouble) Anyway, he's settled in again, tries to play with Angel - unfortunately neither realises she's got stitches and is meant to be recovering from a major operation- and is generally/usually a lovable boy, except when he churns up the former lawn. We went for a walk yesterday and my companion for the day commented that he must have bought his ears separately because they don't seem to work as a pair. We call him chameleon ears as they can point in different directions at the same time. Viv and I think Pablo could be homed on his own or with a steady companion who will show him older and wiser ways but still have fun. Until we sort out his on lead problems, it might be better if he went to a family without toddlers who will be able to give him some one to one time without distractions.

John popped in yesterday with both Pablo and Angel, and I couldn't help daydreaming how close they are becoming, pruning each other and nuzzling. Would be lovely to rehome them together. Then I woke up.

It's time I updated this thread and put some more pictures on. Pablo's character and quirks are becoming more apparent. Basically he's a bouncy puppy who loves to run, play, wrestle and dig. He pulls on the lead, despite the halti but he might be getting a little bit better. We tried him on a slip lead but he still tried to strangle himself rather than walk to heel. He is still wary of other dogs when he's on the lead; properly introduced, he's happy with 9 out of 10 dogs, the odd one usually having the same anxiety as him when it seems to go into a feedback loop. Until yesterday I'd have said he was fine with all people, but for some reason he's taken a dislike to our friend Geoff. Is it because he's tall, maybe 6' 1" or 2", greyhaired and balding? Is it the black t-shirt he often wears? Or is it because he supports Wolves, in which case, well done Pablo. Anyway some pictures of the lovely loon Pablo gets on well with dogs he knows A lady's man He likes choc ices but is still a good boy He likes this jumper in fact, he's just taken it off the washing line and eaten it He also likes to play in the garden removing thatch from the lawn and clearing the flower beds The Pabster
