We are so pleased that Cracker has found such a loving home to follow on into from his obviously excellent foster home. He is absolutely gorgeous. If we had not already gained Bailey and Lilypup, we would have been in the queue for him! He will undoubtedly give you so much pleasure and love. Please keep us all informed!

Haven't taken any pics since the Christmas Card Photo competition but will take some more soon to let you see Caspar's development. He is such a character. He talks and talks and talks, and very loudly! He is also very attentive compared to Taz and Beauty. Caspar actually watches the TV and identifies animals . The other day he saw some dogs and rushed over to the cabinet under the TV to look in and see if he could find them! I never have crumbs on the floor any more as Caspar is a hoover. He is of course still VERY playful ::)and I am included as the pack leader. All 3 have bonded brilliantly and I am constantly amazed at how having Caspar has brought Taz out. He plays like a puppy at times with them now, jumping and bowing. ;D All 3 spent a few nights last week in an excellent local kennels whilst I was away and they loved it! The owners loved them and the hounds were in no hurry to leave! They raced in the fields most of the day in addition to their formal walks and had a lovely bath just before they came home - of course I did not have my camera with me! I have nicknamed Caspar 'Conan the Destroyer' as no toy lasts more than half a day, and then he moves on to rugs and beds given the chance. He loves squeakers and is intent on getting through the seams, through the fluff and directly to the squeaker. Whilst away though I bought the biggest, strongest rope tug toy I have ever seen and I will see how that goes! I don't think that Caspar would have been really happy as an only dog and to see him with the others is pure joy. He LOVES delivery men and our postman always brings biscuits for them. When he sees the postman, Caspar jumps from standing, past the top of the door - in joy. The first time this happened, the postman and me were dumbfounded, Caspar jumped many feet in the air, without any effort! I am jealous of his agility. I am having to seek out training for them though. I am looking for someone who will come to our home and help with all 3. If anyone knows of anyone please let me know. I have one name but still waiting for her to contact me. Love to all Margey

Many thanks for that Margery - you conjure up a lovely picture of how the lad's settling in & mixing so well with t'others. 'Tis good to have confirmation of another case of SLR's rehoming procedures finding the best possible home for one of 'our' hounds.

;D As promised here are some photos of the big little boy, now 9 months old and still growing! The beds are the Big Breed beds and that should give some perspective to how the little boy has grown! In the first picture (taken this morning) you will note a little black dirt trapper mat. This is no longer as soon after Caspar decided to take it somewhere quiet and chew big lumps out of it even though chew toys litter the house! I blame the rain and not being able to go for as many walks! Please spare a thought for Caspar on Friday morning 20th November as he goes in for his 'snip and cut' before he realises what it is all for! Love Margey No I will not turn round for my photo! Oh, clever, caught me on the other side! Look, I can't help my legs being this long! Breakfast Hounds There must be some more food in there!

Caspar is home and sleeping. Vet verdict was that everything went well. Apparently he was awake from straight after the op and was singing to the staff! I think he was just soooo hungry as once he had some food, he found a quiet mat and just went to sleep. I have put a nice light blanket over him and I will just keep a watchful eye. Love Margey

Caspar had his 3 day check up yesterday and the vet said that he is healing well. Just the 10 day one left to check that the stitches have dissolved etc. The whole family went of course and all got treats - best for them to like the vets. Caspar is back to his normal self and he has enjoyed gentle on lead walks with his family and off lead in the small garden just to sniff, not run. He was eating normally from first thing the next day and in fact seems extra hungry - Beauty clumped him when he tried to take her fish biscuit on Sunday. He has however been especially mischievious and as I have been rather poorly myself, this has got me down a bit. Last night when stretched out resting in the dining room he decided to chomp into the skirting board - totally out of the blue and it was only the noise that brought me running. At least it was not my baby grand piano. I have a trainer coming to visit to discuss training the hounds - she was due today but I had to postpone due to health - got a nasty cold virus that is on its 9th day with associated brochitis, conjunctivitis and blistered mouth! Roll on the winter! Regards Margey
