Update received from Rob & Carole this morning:Lily is doing just fine - very positive progress on all fronts. The only minor sticking point is that she is scared of the dog flap on the back door, and will NOT use it. Perhaps she got scared of "traps" if raced? Bailey used it fine from day 1, but she will mess indoors if the flap is not held in the fully "up" position. It's ok at the moment, but it will soon be chilly to have the flap permanently open. We will keep trying gently. One day she will probably go through it without thinking, eg while chasing Bailey. On Sunday, we had to leave them together in the house while we were away for the afternoon. They were as good as gold for 5 hours - much longer than we had intended. Anyway, that has given us a lot more confidence that they can be relaxed and content when left alone. Other than that, there has been at least one of us at home during the whole day ever since we got her; we think she knows this is truly her home now. Bin raiding has stopped too; she learns quickly. They are a real scream together on walks: totally mad, with ears, legs and tails flying in all directions, and boxing like hares. We had a late walk in the dark on the Downs at the weekend, and they went berserk, racing up and down the hillsides and through the bushes. Lily had a luminous / reflective collar which we could see bounding all over the place in the torchlight, with the occasional glint of matching yellow eyes. They slept almost all of the next day. I shall try to attach some recent pics for you (probably all variations on a theme, ie on assorted sofas). Rob was absolutely correct! ;D
Bailey, Lily's stupendously handsome playmate, is obviously determined not to be outdone! :

Hi all Well it was bath day today, after their run over the local field yesterday, they both found a VERY smelly dirty pond to jump in and play around in. They had a wonderful time, but we couldn't stand the smell this morning – so in the bath they went! Bailey we know is fine, so we bathed Bailey first, letting Lily see that it was fine and he was fine, then Lily went in, and she was fine too. They are an absolutely wonderful pair of dogs, Lily is such a poppet and Bailey loves her so much, he hardly ever leaves her alone (poor thing)! She does let him know when she has had enough though, so that is good. They play well together, and we get so many comments everywhere we go. Anyway, will keep in touch. Carole
