Megan came to us today because she was too much of a baby to stay in the rescue kennels where she was. She physical puts her legs around you and cuddles and licks you to death. She has a lovely temperament. At the moment we are looking for a foster home for Megan who is approximately 10 months to 14 months. She is very pretty and will find a home in no time. She will be up for adoption. She is just like a little Alices Minnie Approximately 23 inches at the shoulder and the loveliest of temperaments. She is very slight in build, and could do with a couple of kilos on. If anyone can take Megan in to foster, preferably near to Essex, please get in touch with Jenny. x

Just had a thought though Bernice. How about the men living together and us living together....then we could have as many doglets as we wanted!!!!!!
We could still call on the men to come round and do the odd job as required!!!

I had the great pleasure of meeting this little 'un today, & she's an absolute poppet!
The photos don't do her justice by any means, but I'm sure that Mummy Chook won't be long in posting some that show how really lovely she is.
Seriously, if my home-kennel wasn't already looking like the Battersea Dogs Home overflow unit I'd have her like a shot - this is one special little lady.

Do you think I can get this little lady to stand to get a photo. She likes to stand on her two back feet and put her front legs around you and cuddle. I'd equate it to a kangaroo standing up to box. She is so weired. She had a ball earlier and Sofi tried to take it off her, her heckles went up and Sofi barked at her. She ran with the ball with her heckles up, but not knowing what to do next. She needs a couple of kilos on. Her feet are HUGE... Her eyes almost pop out and she is so eager to show love. Here she is when I could get her to stop.

This little baby is to die for. She never makes a noise. She loves being put in her crate with a treat. She has settled so well here with the girlies that Sofi and Megan had a lovely lurcher rough and tumble last night, ending when them both collapsed with each other. She does seem squirrel keen at the mo, but my two and Elly are as well. The squirrels seems to tease them running along the fence and into the trees that border us. She loves Mollie, but has especially taken to poor Michael who is constantly on the piriton pills now. She knows commands, and if I say down she hits the deck. I think that someone has been over-firm with her because she cowers if you raise your voice or hand, but is not nervy, just wants to then cuddle in and please. She really has no baggage. AND I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT SHE HAS NOT HAD A QUEUE AT MY DOOR!! And NO Barney, you can't have her  Here she is this morning, hoping that my piece of toast will make it's way over the worktop. ;D NO, You can't have my toast  And investigating in the garden with the lovely Miss Elly ;D

There's no hurry She is down for neutering next week She is having a lovely time, and Sofi is enjoying the games too ;D If you live near Essex and you want to visit, you are most welcome. But please, only offers of homes if you are homes pretty much 24/7. She needs some tlc and spoiling.

We ARE looking for a home that may have another dog for some fun, a home within 50 miles radius of here, unless she is neutered before she goes, and a home where there is a main carer who DOES NOT work.
This little girl deserves the best in life after such a terrible start. She has been locked up in a confined space for so long WE WILL NOT allow her to go to anyone who is going to leave her for anytime whilst working. Sorry for the abruptness but such a lovely dog deserves the best. She still has this temperament and love after what she has been through and we owe it to her to get her the best.
So, please pleasse only contact us if you can fit the criteria.

Dropped Meggie off at the vets this morning. Stayed whilst she had a tranquiliser. She was so scared, poor mite. Off back to pick her up at 4 p.m. What a quiet day here. The doglets are all quiet and moping.

Poor baby screamed the vets down when he tried to look afterwards at how she was going. She has definitely been rought handled at some point by a man. She is having a little sleep at the mo on the big Tilly sofa. I am microwaving her some chicken and boiling some rice. The vet said she had probably been kicked about a bit too. It was funny when I came indoors with her. I was outside wondering how I would get her in and a car pulled up. It was the son of Carole who had sent round a gorgeous dog bed for Elly. I grabbed him quick and got him to carry her in in the quilt I had taken. Poor man. All the dogs were so concerned and gathered round to sniff and give her licks. I think Elly was sympathising with her. Got to go, chicken is cooked.

Why oh why is it usually the men who do the mistreating? A power trip I suppose. Still not all men are like that thank goodness (Before you lovely SLR men get mad at me ). Sadly in my experience you are absolutely correct Laurie - I wish I had a shilling for every time I've asked if it was o.k. for me to approach a strange dog, only to be told by the owner "he/she is scared of men."
The only exception I've ever come across was Bob, my first Lurcher, whose aversion to the distaff side, (vets, show judges, family friends & strangers), was very evident, & eventually cost the lovely young lad his life.
Undoubtedly some men are control freaks who get their kicks from mistreating animals in the mistaken belief that they are proving themselves to be macho, whereas they are actually merely what I consider to be the lowest life-form on this planet - bullies.
