This was Obi when he arrived Meet Odd Ball, O.B.for short. Truly has the loveliest character and nature of any dog I have brought into the house. Approx 14 months old. We went to get another oldie and came home with him. He just looked so sad. He is quiet. A lovely temperament, and apart from being a little thin is in a lovely condition. Many many thanks to Mutts for taking him in. He is now with us at Southern Lurcher Rescue. This little lad has been in holding kennels for the last week. We couldn't leave him there. He travelled home so quietly and loved looking out of the window. He has not been neutered yet. In the two hours that he has been with us he has been a poppet. He makes no noise, is not dog or food aggressive. He loved the neighbour's children. We haven't got a stunt cat round here to test him on, so not assessed that yet. And, believe it or not someone left the front door open. He had a wander and then came back to me with Sofi when I was looking for him!!! He absolutely loves Michael which is not good, as Michael is allergic to the hairies. He is approximately 14 months old and has a lovely little nature. lAt the moment he is with me, our girls and our poor wee old mite we brought home today. But hopefully we have secured a foster home for him. This little soul is so worth saving... UPDATE..... Obi is having a lovely life with his new family Andrew and Carole and children in Suffolk. Happy days little fellow. UMM.... Minus those two little marbles!!!!

Obi has settled into our family like a little star. He and Poppy are now best friends and play endlessly. he is the perfect dog and so adaptable, he doesn't seem to mind where he sleeps, he is not bothered if Poppy steals a mouthful of his food and he loves a cuddle! We are so grateful to SLR and Jenny especially for allowing us to have this little boy come and live with us, we all love him to bits. Yes OK Jenny I haven't forgotten the pics of Obi at home and out with us, here they are. Have you ever seen a more handsome little lad!!

we think he may be a bit of a cuddle monster... Why do I have a slight suspicion that you may be absolutely right? ;D ;D ;D
Many thanks for the pics - we look forward to seeing more of the lad & his lovely sister as he continues to settle in.

Just a quick update on Obi - he's still doing really well and all is going good!! He's becoming a bit more cheeky now and amuses us by walking under Poppy when they're playing, leaving her standing and wondering where he's gone!!!
He does sit and wait very well and you can walk away and come back and he's still sat there!!
He goes for his second injection on Friday but that doesn't seem to bother him.
He has found a nice place in the garden to dig, but fortunately behind some shrubs and not in the lawn!! He does save me the job of watering as he's pretty good at giving the plants and good sprinkle!!!
One thing he really does like is a nice comfy chair to snuggle up on - which is where he is now fast asleep!!!

God, those behaviour pills are lasting He is a treasure to behold isn't he. Trouble is that you start to cuddle him and just can't move Give him a and , well, just give him another... He is so at home. Many many thanks for making this little fellers life fantastic. ;D ;D

Well Obi has been off lead and is very good. He comes back as soon as we call him and sits the minute you tell him to!! Can't believe this as Poppy does nothing you ask her to!!! He even sits and waits while you clear his poo up!!
Rebecca spends ages in the garden with him doing 'training' as she calls it but obviously this has helped. She also spends the time with Poppy who when in the garden is brilliant but the minute we get her in open areas she ignores us - the rabbits are too much of a distraction!! Obi doesn't seemed interested in rabbits just likes eating the droppings!!
Andrew's away at the moment so last night I had a nice cuddly bed companion - curls up in a tiny ball!!
He is such a pleasure to have around and when you've been out and come home the greeting you get is amazing, his whole rear end wags so much he looks like he's doing a new kind of dance!!
Him and Poppy seem to be getting on great and this morning after one of their play sessions which includes making sure the beds look a total mess, I found them curled up together, wanted to take a picture but knew that if I came downstairs they would both move!!!
Thanks Jenny and Barney for letting us have him, he is truly lovely!!!!

That is so good that he is so well behaved and happy in his new forever home. It's great when you know that they can go off lead and come back!! Wish I could have seen them cuddled up together. It must have been a lovely sight

Many thanks for the update Carole - 'tis great to know that Obi has settled in so well & that he & Poppy are good friends.
We never had any doubt that he was going to the best home he could possibly have, (I'm just miffed that he didn't end up in the second-best, i.e. mine! ;D ).

Hmmm. Third Best. Mine.. God those behaviour pills are really good, if a tad expensive. ;D I am so looking forward to meeting you all again. So, do you want to return him yet?...... thought not.... And, if you need a babysitter, you know where I am... I am up in Peterborough for the lure coursing, just to watch really but if you could get there it would be lovely. Don't thank us, thank you for giving this lovely dog a brilliant home. J xx

Thanks Jenny for posting the pic!! We seemed to get wet every day last week and he really didnt like it! Poppy doesn't appear to mind at all, but her coat is much different to his. Every day we set off in the car and the sky was blue, but when we got to the ling the heavens seemed to open - oh well may as well get wet with two dogs as with one!!!
His character is really coming through now and is very cheeky and extremely playful!! I've never met a dog who is so bouncy, the way he goes round the garden is so funny - almost looking like a kangaroo!!!
He really is a pleasure to have and wouldn't change him for the world!
