This is where I started my journey from Clair's to Sian and Andrew's place yesterday, nicely sitting in the boot of the car. But after a while I got bored and we had slowed down so I thought I'd hope over and keep Sian company in the front! When we got there Andrew was waiting and I gave him lovely cuddles. Then I explored my new home and garden, including tackling the stairs - Sian said they're a bit steep but I managed them easily! I had some dinner and then I had some zoomies in the garden which as lots of fun After I ate all my dinner they took me for a walk, I don't really like being on a collar and lead but Sian put a harness on me and she said I walked very nicely. We didn't meet any other dogs when we were out, but I did lots of sniffing on my way round. After all the excitement of the day I was tired when I got home and quickly fell asleep on my comfy bed, but not before more zoomies out in the garden in the dark! I didn't want to come in - but Sian tempted me in with a biscuit! I got to have cuddles with Andrew on the sofa before bed because I was a good boy! They moved my bed into the kitchen for bedtime and I slept all night without a peep This morning we went for a walk at Lakeside country park, we met a whippet called Bumba, but we both had to stay on lead, he got under my legs and gave me a bit of a fright and then our leads got tangled! After that we met a few other dogs who I can't wait to play with once I'm allowed off to run aroung. After my walk Sian took me to pets at home and let me pick some toys, I chose a Donut and a rope tug toy. I also met Kirby, the receptionist at the vet's, she booked me in for my 2nd post op check on Monday and my next lot of vaccinations. When we got home Sian had to start work so I thought I'd lie at the office door and keep her company, it was a busy morning though so I pretty quickly fell asleep.

Sorry I've not updated again, Ralph - Now called Leonard has certainly been keeping us busy!
He's such a good boy, good through the night and has been fine the couple of times I've had to leave him at home.
He his so full of energy, so is keeping us on his toes with fetch in the garden as well as some nice long walks around the lake near us . He's great with people and other dogs so far. The one thing we are having a little bit of trouble with is his nibbling. He does the puppy nibbling thing when he's playing, and also when he's just lying quietly (that doesn't happen often let me tell you!) but he often gets a bit over excited and just wont stop and it gets quite hard. There's no aggression there, but I'm keen to try and train it out of him as it can be quite painful! So if anyone has any tips they'd be most welcome!

Yep, mouthing is a common thing with the young boys. As soon as he does it say strongly no, and if he lets go raise your voice to a squeaky good boy and give a treat. I used to carry about treats in a bumbag around my waist to train Tag. he still still to lead people into the room with his mouth. But having a youngster mouth strongly is not funny.

Both Hamish and Nero still nit me, and yes it's blimmin' painful sometimes. Hamish is 3 and Nero is 9 so believe me they don't necessarily grow out of it on their own. Of course this is actually my fault as I've never stopped them doing it. It is an expression of affection so I am usually laughing too much for them to take me seriously when I tell them to stop. grassmere-animal-hospital.com/other_greyhound_things.htm

Rowlf used to go for our toes! He would take your slipper then come back and nip your feet. Seriously not funny. I had a squirty water bottle and he got a squirt every time he tried it - cured him in a week!!! Then I left the bottle on the table and he killed it one night!!!

Ah yes our Leonard does seem to have a foot fetish, especially for Andrews feet! May give the squirt bottle a try!

Just thought I'd give a quick update on Leonard. He's doing really really well. We quickly got a handle on the "mouthing" that was causing us a bit of stress - amazing what a rattle made from a plastic water bottle with a few coins in can do! Leonard is really good with other dogs and he's got a few friends locally now who he plays off lead with when we see them. There's a fenced and gated field in Lakeside Park where I let him off for a run every day too which he loves. The recall is a work in progress still, he's great when on his own but if there's something more interesting then I've no chance! But I guess that's just sighthounds for you! Haha It was great to meet everyone at the Swanwick Lakes walk last month, we'd like to try and make it to the next one too if we can. I've set up an instagram page for Leonard as I was taking so many photos I needed somewhere to share them so if anyone wants to take a look it's instagram.com/lurcher_leonard heres a few recent ones.
