Would she be good to pair with a very calm dog who could lead her and be her 'eyes'? I have seen programmes where this has been very successful, sometimes linking the blind dog to a sighted dog with a short lead.

Would she be good to pair with a very calm dog who could lead her and be her 'eyes'? I have seen programmes where this has been very successful, sometimes linking the blind dog to a sighted dog with a short lead. In an ideal world that could work and I never say never. I am going to focus on walking her with just Izzy as she feels no threat from her. She hasn't attempted to follow her around the garden but it is early days. She has alot of new stuff to get used to, I trying not to make her world too big or scary at the moment. Letting her familiarise herself with our noises and environment so she feels safe, with only short walks around the block. It helps knowing we won't have to consider dogs running over off lead so each encounter can be managed. She's not reacted to any other dog except a labrador she met at the vets who started growling at her. It was short lived and he did all the challenging. Sorry for the lack of pics, having 6 dogs is quite challenging but I am going out with Jemima and Izzy in a mo and my daughter is going to record her walking to show how beautifully she walks along. (No pulling but lots of sniffing)

She sounds lovely ...murphy has acquired a few nicks on his ears ,rushing through the woods ....dogs cope so much better than humans with lost vision ....

I have the feeling that little Jemima needs a very special and dedicated home - no doubt SLR will find the perfect home for this sweet little girl. Looking forward to some more piccies..... as and when (no rush, Claire!)

It looks like this little girl has landed on her feet. Your work with her will really help her on the next leg of her journey. Well done to you both!

Jemima is a dear little dot. She was out in the garden with Neil whilst he cut the grass, i took Chris' washing out and she just wandered casually over and got on top of the clean laundry! She is wary of Jethro, just because of his size, although she has walked under him and head butted him several times! She is much more confident in the last 24 hours. I hope it's because she feels safe.

Her early anxiety will have transmitted to the other dogs but she will have picked up their confidence and energy and helped her feel more confident. She's done really well considering she can't see. Keeping fingers crossed for her!

We had a roach tonight. Excuse the lumpy bumpy bits, she has a hernia and swollen mammaries.

It's so lovely when they feel relaxed enough to do their first roach. May this be the first of many.

Jemima continues do do well. There has been no more incidences of reactivity to any of my dogs or dogs she has met on her little jaunts. She is very content to follow you about, unperturbed by her bumping her head. She will obviously get much better in her new home as she does learn very quickly the safe routes around the house. She is fine going up the stairs but cannot negotiate coming back down at the moment and I am not pushing her on that. She sleeps downstairs without any problems. She has been totally clean from day one! I've yet to see a playful side but she seems happy enough. Tail wagging and a little jig when I greet her in the morning.

Now who could resist that face? Apart from when she meets new dogs Jemima is an absolute gem. She just potters around. Gets into the car without any issues and sleeps all night. I love her to bits. She is so trusting.
