We got an email from a Dog Warden on Friday, asking if there was anyway that we could take this dear sweet girl, otherwise they would be in the position of making a decision on her life as there were no funds available. One look at the photo and hearing how lovely a dog she was the Committee and I said yes. And with the kind offer of a foster home for Jemima, she will be coming in this afternoon to Claire in Southampton. Jemima may have cataracts - we won't know the full extent of her near blindness until she comes in, but we will do our best to get her sorted. And if she can be rehomed onwards she will be guaranteed that we will find the best possible home for her for the rest of her life.

What a heart melter. Thank you sooo much for agreeing to take her in and thank you Claire for fostering. There is something in her eyes that reminds me of our lovely Eddie.

Jemima has been safely collected. She was in quite a state, very dirty so was immediately bathed, her nails are in need of a clip but I will let her settle down abit before tackling them. She is very 'human' friendly and seems to understand some instructions. My first assessment is that she is much younger than 13. I will ask the vet but I suspect she is possibly 8 if that. She manages to potter around quite happily, bumping her head occassionally but knew where to head for a treat. picture of her claws

I forgot to mention she is 21 inches to the shoulder. So quite dainty, a little portly but exercise and good food will sort that out.

Beautiful. Looks in need of a manicure! The way that her toes are spread out, I hope she hasn't got a grass seed or infection there.

What a dear little soul, bless her. Thanks so much for the first post and piccies, Claire, she probably has not yet realised, that her life is completely changing for the better. It appears her nails have not seen any clippers what seems to be quite a considerable time but once sorted, I'm sure she will feel a lot better. Welcome to SLR, little Jemima!
