I agree. The relinquishing owner must be heartbroken but he has done the right thing for Rook. I think Jake will be in heaven with a new playmate.

That'll be a 6 dog assault on Home Farm sometime?
Well done Mike & Jillian. You really don't like too much peace and quiet do you!

This youngster will stay with Jillian and Mike until he is assessed. Meanwhile there are a couple of "nuts" to sort out.

Oops - thought you were referring to Jillian and Mike as "nuts" for a minute there . Then got the gist - but in my defence haven't been up long and only part way through my first cuppa . Anyway, well done for stepping up so quickly to help this lad.

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes for Rook. Sorry not to have given an update yesterday, but we had a pretty full-on day, The Kidz were with us the whole day and Rook is a great traveller - so good in the car! We had him weighed this morning 23.6 kg - he looks a bit skinny to us, but some of you may think he's just right! He had a bit of an upset tum yesterday and this morning, so he's now on chicken and rice with a little grated carrot till it settles. He was fed on Dr Somebody or others Gold, but we are told that it is mainly cereal, so as soon as he settles we will put him on Eden and grilled chicken, like Jake and Willow - with the odd sardine and vegetables - since he smelled J and W's dinner he's turned his nose up at his previous diet. Went for a long walk at Home Farm this morning and managed to take some happy snaps ('fraid my camera's not up to much, so will ask Ian's advice on a replacement when we see him next). Lets see if I can get PB to work: Am sure Jillian and I are nuts, but Rook will be nutless next Tuesday, 5th - wish him well! He is lovely company, great on a walk, good recall - in fact he's an absolute Smasher!! Thank you all again xx

Thanks for the photos. Sounds as though Rook has settled down with your two nicely. It must be heaven for him having playmates after being left alone for hours.

From those pics he does look about the right weight to me. Dr Johns is very cheap stuff - I'm sure he'll be much happier on what you feed your two. He seems from the pics to be very happy to be with you.

The photos are great; what a lovely young fella he is! Love his bandana too. Seems like he's bonding particularly well with Jake (per the photos).

We are green with envy, but we realise that with all the health issues, we'd be silly to take on another hound now. We can still dream though.

Crikey he looks like he has been with you for ages, very relaxed looking boy and not as big as I thought he would be, he is rather scrummy
