I am waiting for some photos of an 11 month old Deerhound X in Kent, near Sevenoaks. His owner is very distraught at having to find him another home, but due to a reltionship breakup finds himself having to leave him all day in a flat, and not only that he has a 1.5 hour commute each way into the City. I would like to get this boy in YESTERDAY!! If I weren't moving I would go and pick him up myself. Can anyone offer to take him in until we can sort out a proper foster home. The poor man has been offered a Kennel Space but he doesn't want that for his dog. Not neutered yet but all vaxes up to date, good with all dogs and people. Bouncy and big but very friendly. THIS IS ULTRA URGENT.

Huge thanks to Penny and Becs for offering, but i THINK we have now sorted him. Michael and Jillian are offering cover for the lad in Hampshire. They are on their way to pick him up now. xxx

WTG Michael and Gillian, you are stars. And Jake will think it's his birthday!

The lovely Rook is now safely in the SLR Family.
Jake and Willow love him and they are all doing 50 mph around the garden. Will try and do photos tomorrow.
He is very calm, a lovely temperament, rides well in the car and very beautiful. He's just a tad taller than Jake, so not as big as we expected for a deerhound. xx

Wow that was a quick rescue! Did you go straight from the pub or home first? I could have sworn you said no more fostering til Jake calmed down! Sounds like you are going to have fun. Rook sounds lovely. Maybe he will wear Jake out!

We went home first, saw Jenny's message and made the call. Fortunately the fellow lived near Gatwick so we met halfway.
They have all had their supper and Rook and Jake are establishing their limits and boundaries, a few nips here and there, but what I expected! Willow is sitting on the sidelines taking it all in. I think that by morning they will all know each other better and have calmed down a bit. Will keep you all updated - but he is lovely!!

Well done Mike and Jillian. Amazing that you volunteered, collected and got him to your place within < 6 hrs. Can we start to place FF bets yet??

Sooooo lovely! Wrong timing again for me.. Thank you so much Jillian and Michael for taking him on, and you must be exhausted today with the walk and then the extra travel. His owner was so distraught I couldn't leave him. Had you not come forward Claire in Kent would have had him for a couple of nights. But I feel he will get a home p.d.q. xx

Wow! That was quick, well done. Can't wait to see the pics, assuming they are not all just blurs of fur.

Well done Mike and Jillian. He looks a lovely boy.
I was tempted, but then I put my sensible hat back on!
I'm sure he'll have a super time with you.

Well done folks, he certainly looks a smasher! As always, I feel so bad for the relinquishing owner in these situations, so I hope the fact you acted so quickly to help gives him some comfort.

Well done for taking this stunning boy, so sad for his owner, heartbreaking but he couldn't have come to a better place to ensure this boys safety and happiness.
