It's hard isn't it Jean?
There is nothing more wonderful than watching a dog run free, but it's such a huge risk. You need to know that you will be the first thing they think of if things go wrong.
Tark, always comes back. Her recall is excelent. Makes me realise how happy and care free Tarka is when you see Aoife. We'll get there though, one day xx

helen, they are just gorgoeus together . I'm thrilled she went walkies - excellent. The recall thing will take longer - but ultimately I don't think Aoife will go too far from Tarka. Perhaps start in the garden, or if you know someone with an enclosed field - and practise recall with her. She is soooooooooo fast that if she did get away in the open and refused to come back you'd need to be an Olympic sprinter to try to catch her. Once she's totally settled I'm sure it will be different. I was nervous letting her off the lead here at home after the first few days when she came here just in case she was a jumper as I'm surrounded by farmland - but she'd have her gallup and then chill on her bed Remember, she was found originally straying in Dublin, so someone managed to catch her and she was coping with the city streets then. You will get there - but for now better safe than sorry

What is it with this Irish lot? They're so laid back. Every dog Gill sends over seems to have a love of laying down! ;D Aoife will do everything she can laying down Kisses for my sisterHave a little drink! We're having a lovely time here. She's quietly clever. Has learnt everything I've taught her. She brought a tear to my eye yesterday. I came back from the school run, and she jumped up wagging her tail when she saw me. This is the first true time she's opened up. Was a really lovely moment

Tarks & Aoife were made for each other and obviously destined to be together you've done so well with her and to think I was worried she'd go backwards into her shell She does give quite a welcome, doesn't she - waggy tail and bouncy delighted to hear the good news - don't tell me any bad ;D
