We've discovered the stairs! She thinks they make a great noise thudding up and down them. Closely followed by Miss T. My garden is a half dead race track already, wow can that girl shift. Ooo and the cats have had their customary 'hello' quick hiss and off she ran! Big whoose! Ooo I do love her already, she just makes me smile ;D

well that has been an eventful day for everyone in your home Helen They simply adore each other - I told you she was a cheeky mare up on the couch - it's far from couches she was in the pound !!! I'm just so happy for all of you - your life will never be the same again and your garden certainly won 't ;D Aoife can run at some speed and she smiles as she takes the bend - my dogs used just look with their mouths open.........what was that??? I love the photo where they are both in their beds and Tarka has a paw on Aoife's bed - as if to make sure she doesn't go away - Thank you giving her the home she needs - so many Aoife's here who never get the chance - Seeing her in the photos drives home why we all do this - There'll be an early night for everyone to-night

There'll be an early night for everyone to-night Ooops yep. I passed out before the end of Eastenders!! Didn't hear Andrew bring the girls up last night, but they both had a really good night. Aofie got up at 4 and asked to go out, then went straight back to bed til 7 ;D She's much more vocal this morning, shouting at Tark to come and play and hooning around like no one's business. She's still so focused on Tark and only really acknowledges us when she wants something. But I'm sure with time this will come. Oh and they both ate a full diner, and both ate a proper breakki!!

Considerering how well she's settled I'd say it won't be too long before you get the nuzzle from her - Wherever she was before she ended up in the pound, her connection was with dogs - probably little human interaction, took her quite a while here before she would come to me - Tarka eating breakfast and dinner - well that must be such a relief for you Helen - she'll be piling on the beef ;D they're like kids - ok, I'll eat 'cos you're eating. Hopefully she only copies Aoife's good behaviour - Aoife does have a piercing voice

Hopefully she only copies Aoife's good behaviour - Aoife does have a piercing voice She was so much better than I ever thouht she'd be over night Gill. Considering she was frightened of the stairs when she first got here, Andrew said she trotted up stairs and plonked herself in the first available bed she found. That would make sense about the connection with dogs. it's like she's chucking a deafy like my youngest when he's told to stop fighting with his brother She sure does have a piercing voice, but since she got told off abut an hour or so ago, she's held it in . Such a good girl. xxxx

We had a big beak through last night. Aoife happily went for walkies with her new sister. ;D This may not sound very big, but to Aoife it was huger than huge. She is so scared of what might happen out of her comfort zone, and Gill had terrible trouble getting her past even the hall door when she was with her. But last night we just picked up leads and walked out the door, no looking back . (well Andrew did as I am still ill, not been out since Wed ) As long as she has her new sister, Aoife is trying to deal with everything. We had a good nights sleep agian. She loves her bed. This morning she had a lovely bath. Something i thought she'd freak at, but actually quite liked it, as much as Aoife shows she likes anything at the mo. Her tail was still up, so it cant have been that bad. Oo and we got a lovey 'sit' too. Which is the first time she's actually respnded to anything we've said. Small steps, eh? She's such a lovely girl, if erm, slightly vocal All lovely and fluffy post bath at the moment too ;D

Fantastic ;D She'll be racing round that bottom field with Tarka before you know it How's Andrew holding up ;D Andrew said she was dying to go last night. It'll be a long time though. Can see how if something scared her she'd just bolt blind. I tell you what Jenny, Andrew is smitten ;D. I thought I'd get the 'humph more work, more paws to wipe. More dog smells.' But he adores her. I think she's hypnotised him with those golden eyes

p.s. Hope you're feeling better now, & able to take advantage of the decent weather. Thanks Barney. I desperately want to take the girls out, haven't seen my poor horsey since Wed, but I'm just in so much pain. Aoife's bath is still taking it's toll on me, and that was over an hour ago. It'll be before I head out the door again

Sounds like Aoife is doing rearly well and gaining confidence by the day. So nice that she is happy to go walking. I know where you are coming from about them running off lead as its the same with Dolly my greyhound I have only had her for for four weeks and she came from a dreadful situation in Ireland. And she is also very nervous I don't know if I will ever have the confidence to let her run. Maybe will will get there when the time is right.
