Little Saffie has come into SLR through a private home where she was very loved. She is only around 23" to the shoulder. Her circumstances are that her dad moved in with his new partner, and the toddler of the famly has suffered two asthama attacks since she arrived, resulting in her being allergic to Saffie. She is everything friendly, and a lovely girly. She will be netuered shortly. Such a lovely girly an just lacking a lovely family to love her xxx

Saffie is a little treasure Thank you to Rachel & Chris for collecting her and dropping her off with us. She's a little overwelmed and slightly nervous of all the dogs but she doesn't seem to have a bad bone in her body she's just staying out of their way or submitting if they come too close. I took her out for a nice long walk with Vinnie & Shylo earlier. She is a bit of a puller and I think it might just be a little un-used to having a lead on as she's wasn't keen on me putting a collar on her even. She wasn't too bothered about the others being let off the lead other than if they ran passed her she did show interest in running with them. We saw a few other dogs and she wasn't overly interested in them - admittedly they were quite far away but there was no straining to get to them. She has definitely had some training as she knows sit, paw and wait and I'm pretty sure her recall is going to be good as she came ever time I called her name when we were out and she comes to her name in the house every time. She's not cat friendly and has got a bit a prey drive I would say as she was pretty alert in the woods and a cat shot across our path on the way home & both her & Shylo immediately tried to give chase - lots of lunging and pulling to get after it even when it was out of sight. She's pretty unsettled in the house at the moment and is making her feelings known with some lovely singing She's only just come in and joined us in the lounge and sat in one of the beds however she's still crying for attention and has yet to close her eyes even though she's yawning a lot I think she must be used to being the centre of attention and obviously her whole world as she's known it has crashed around her and she's landed in a strange house with lots of weird doggies and 2 strange hoomans..... no wonder she's unsettled, I think I would be too. Reggie is off to the vets in the morning to have his stitches out so Mark is going to take her along to register her and give the vets all her details. I've made an appointment for a proper check up and to have her booster tomorrow afternoon. Her owner says that she's just come out of her first season so I'll get the vet to advise when she can be spayed too. I hope she didn't meet any male suiters during her recent season and Saffi is just Saffi and not carrying any mini-saffi's Here's a few pictures to be going on with - she's not the easiest to photograph as she's not staying still at the moment but I'm sure I'll get lots the more she relaxes and settles in. She has fabulous ears. Just a tiny bit bigger than Dexter

Little lady had a good night sleep....eventually She really didn't want to come into the lounge properly last night so we put a bed in the doorway and eventually she lay down on that - but with her head up and sang!!! i think she must be used to contact as she just kept looking at Mark and crying/whining/singing/barking but if he stroked her she was quiet. Not getting into that game though as there are far too many dogs here for individual attention when demanded so she was ignored for the most part and she did ease off with the entertainment When it was time for bed all the dogs went outside for a wee and she happily trotted out too but she wouldn't wee. She had a good sniff about and then lay down in the garden Gave up brought her in and went upstairs to bed. She happily flew up the stairs and into our bedroom and straight up onto the bed....!!! We set a bed up next to Mark on the floor for her but she just would not settle down in there. After the 6th time of her going back downstairs we tired to see if she'd settle down there but she obviously wanted to be with us as she would come back upstairs straight away, whether one of us stayed down with her or not.......SO..... up on the bed she came and snuggled down with me & Reggie and off to sleep she went Not a muscle moved until 7am this morning when we all got up Straight out into the garden she went and had the biggest wee ;D She was very wary about eating with all the other dogs this morning so I put a bowl in the lounge for her and shut the gate on the kitchen so the others couldn't disturb her and she slowly ate some breakfast Mark took her with Reggie to the vets this morning and instead of me having to go back for her check up this afternoon our vet saw her there and then. By all accounts she was petrified of the vet didn't like having her temperature taken (who would ) and then cried the place down having her booster...love her xxx Mark's not feeling very well at the moment - man flu - so he's having a bit of a duvet day with all the dogs which will be great for her to settle down a bit more.

Well we had a disasterous start to the day I went off to work and Mark popped out for about 45mins and by all accounts Saffi barked and howled none stop the whole time he was out!! Me thinks our Saffi suffers from a little bit of SA understandable considering she's had such a change in circumstances recently and I guess just as she started trusting Mark he went and left her! Couldn't be helped though and at least it's highlighted an area we need to work on with her. I've got 4 days off now so I'm going to be spending a lot of time getting her used to being left and hoping we can make her understand that being without us is ok as we will be coming back Another great walk tonight and again she was as good as gold off lead with all the others She also ate all of her tea with great gusto tonight which is great as up until now she's just been picking at it as she's not felt comfortable eating with anyone around.... but kibble with pilchards on went down super fast Like all foster dogs in this house she has sussed out super fast what a soft touch my ole man is with doggies and made herself comfortable So cute xxx

Lovely pics Karla. Poor lass its hardly suprising she's suffering a bit of SA, she has had a very confusing week. Love the way she's snuggling up to Mark and those ears! Wow! You're doing great as usual. Lucky Saffie to come to you.
