Ronnie yesterday evening in his favourite sleeping place:
In the garden today:
With his mate Rory, who seems intent on taking over Winnie's mothering duties!
Everything that Karla has posted regarding this super lad is spot on, (including a certain lack of toilet training, but we'll not dwell on that, suffice it to say that it's reminded me of one of the reasons I don't do pups! ).
Ronnie is a happy, playful little soul who is very loyal & affectionate. He's also very entertaining, especially when playing bitey-face with Rory: they've both got it off to a fine art & they're a joy to watch.
I let Ronnie off lead in the woods yesterday, & I have to say that his recall is one of the best I've ever encountered in a youngster. He often looks gangly & unco-ordinated, especially when play-bowing or leaping around in the undergrowth, but he's poetry in motion when running, & he's bloody quick - yesterday he had no trouble whatsoever in keeping up with Erin, who of course was bred to race!
Ronnie has a good appetite, & he'll probably have pasta tomorrow with the aim of carrying on his weight gain, (summat he's already trying to work on by bin raiding! ).
I can confirm what Ronnie's thread title states - the lad is blessed with a super temperament, & some lucky person will be gaining a wonderful companion by adopting him.

Fabulous update Barney and great to see photo's of him looking so happy Sorry about the pee'ing it took us about 3 weeks to crack that one and I was hoping he'd be a good boy from the outset with you - obviously a little bit too much to ask for bless him I'm absolutely delighted he and Rory are becoming such great friends, he really needed that - wouldn't it be wonderful if they were re-homed together - a ready made perfect pair of doglets ;D

Just back from the vets, where Winnie had her stitches out. I took Ronnie with us, as heaven only knows what might have gone on in the home-kennel if I'd left him in Rory's company!
I let Ronnie off lead on the cycle track both on the way to the vets & on the return journey - his recall remains superb, as it was again in the woods before breakfast.
Whilst at the vets I took the opportunity of weighing Ronnie, & he turned the scales at 24.8Kg, which is very pleasing.
Ronnie was as good as gold in the surgery, even though he endowed the nurse with a Lurcher lean when she was removing Winnie's stitches.
It's been a really entertaining week with Ronnie here, & even though I don't do pups I'll certainly miss the lovely lad - his company has been a real pleasure.

Edited to add:
Having a Ronnie & a Rory together has been a tad confusing for an old duffer like me - I think I've ended up calling both of them "Rornie."

Ronnie left with his Auntie Jenny a few minutes ago - he greeted her nicely with a very waggy tail, & climbed straight into her car with no hesitation.
The lad will be absolutely fine with the HQ Crew, but please don't expect too much in the way of updates for a day or two, as Mummy Chook arrived back from holiday to be greeted by well in excess of 700 emails that she needs to plough her way through!

[/i][/quote] ;D ;D Ha ha I know exactly what you mean..... we thought it was a great idea to have a Reggie & a Ronnie but most of the time we ended up with a Roggie or a Rennie Delighted to hear he's a healthy 24+ kilos that's just perfect - thank you Barney for all you've done for him.

A few pics of Ronnie yesterday before he took himself off for new adventures.
In the woods:
Relaxing after his exertions:
The home-kennel seems strangely empty without the lad, even though he was only here for a week - 'tis impossible to over-emphasise what a great companion Ronnie will make for some lucky person & his/her child(ren)/dog(s).

Sorry I didn't update before, but it has been a tad hectic here, with Baxter coming here overnight and then Ronnie's arrival. All lovely and calm and quiet here. His favourite person in the house seems to be Mollie. He wants so much to play with Tag and Tag is playing it cool. I love the way he pounces onto the ball when he retrieves it. He is such a comical pup, and so loving. We had cuddles last night on the sofa and he loves coming into the office to lie down with me. Not sure we should have got a two seater sofa for here, as Mr. Legs fills is easily. Slept like a log last night and is such a good boy, even when you tread on him getting out for a night-time pee. Michael manages to walk all three boys on lead, and he did the usual two miles last night with no mishaps. Ronnie is eating really well and doesn't beg at the table. He is so lovable. No baggage with this boy, just sheer love. Just one photo as it has peed down with rain since we have been home.

Nope But we don't know he is here, so no worries. He is the loveliest dog in the world. His character reminds me of a young retriever type. He is doing well on his two mile lead walks with Michael now and is a pleasure to look after.
