Thank you everyone! I won't be able to post an update this evening, as off to Olympia at 2.30pm this afternoon. But Tony is going to pick him up and deliver his aftercare, so he will be in good hands. He was quite apprehensive at being handled by the vet, which isn't like him, but he was very good and got on the scales in the end. He only weighs 16.7 kg, so could do with a bit more weight on him.

Just to say that all went well with Oscar's op. He was a bit unsettled yesterday evening, but hasn't tried to lick his stitches at all and has eaten well yesterday and today. He's snuggled next to me on the sofa now waiting for his supper. He doesn't seem to mind being restricted to on lead exercise, and has started to walk nicely on a loose lead now. PS Just remembered to say that he is starting to pick up commands now, and will go and lie down in his bed on command. Clever little boy! I think he would be really easy to train. We haven't really done any one to one training with him - he's just caught on from watching our three.

Didn't manage to get the camera, but think that Oscar is really starting to relax as he had his first roach on the sofa this evening! So cute. His stitches aren't bothering him in the slightest! He hasn't paid any attention to the wound. He has learnt to sit to have his lead put on. What a clever boy. Taking him back to the vet tomorrow to have his 3 day check, and when we rang them to make the appointment they were so pleased he was coming back in and said they all love him at the vet surgery. Awwwwww.

Well Oscar has sailed through his castration. He's healing really well, has hardly noticed his stitches, and only had two painkillers the morning after the op! He is such an adorable hound. I must admit I was a bit concerned that he would be really bouncy and have too much energy, but for a young dog he is extremely calm and well balanced. Don't get me wrong ... he knows how to play and have fun. He wriggles around on his back and looks so funny - and he was playing bitey face with Max this morning. He loves people, and I think that if there was someone around for him all the time he would be happy as an only dog. He's been happy to walk on lead with Tony with the others bounding around him, and doesn't really take much notice of them. However, he would fit in well with other dogs of any age. He wouldn't irritate an older dog, as he is very respectful of our three, and takes his lead from them. If they want to chill, he chills too. If they want to play, he is happy to be playful. He wakes up once in the night to go out for a wee, but happily goes straight back to bed and sleep afterwards. He's much more settled. We can leave him with our dogs when we go out briefly and he is fine. He hasn't chewed one thing here, apart from the nylabones in the toy box. He's perfick! Here are a couple more photos ... I managed to get one of an Oscar roach. Cheeky face! Loving the sofa!

They all love the snow, and had great fun playing in it on their walk yesterday afternoon. We had about 4 inches fall yesterday afternoon so very pretty here. They were keen to get out there this morning and have a good run around. Great fun! Christina - cuddle duly administered. He climbed up on our bed at 7am this morning for a sneaky cuddle - I think he was cold.
