RORY has been with the Rescue a little while now and not a hint of anyone wanting a 5 year old steady loving and relaxed hound. We changed his foster home a couple of weeks ago and Adrian and Nikki in Essex are now looking after the easiest foster in the world. Someone out there is missing out on such love and devotion. Could it be you
I'll leave Adrian to fill you all in on the lovely Rory.
........................................................................................
We've had the lovely Rory a couple of weeks now & he is indeed a straightforward little chap. He's more dainty in person than he looks (to me anyway) in photos & generally very quiet, he rarely barks. That said, if Bax wants him to play he'll give as good as he gets & then some & enters into it in true lurcher spirit, usually coming out on top...
He's very sociable & doesn't like to be left on his own. He's also very child-friendly (we had friends over last night & he spent a fair while being bossed around by a 4-y-old, which he - and Baxter - took brilliantly without fuss). As far as I can see he's not cat friendly. Off-lead he's fine, he tends to wander around but he won't go too far & it's no problem getting him back to you etc. He will try to make friends with any other dogs in the area.
He loves the sofa & will spend as long as you let him curled up asleep there....
Foodwise Rory is very straightforward: Likes his meals but doesn't go crazy. Likes treats. Hasn't tried to counter-surf or bin-raid at all.
He's fully house-trained but when you take him to do his business he likes to wander around at his leisure & pee in about 20 installments, one squirt per bush. One thing to be aware of with Rory is that he won't tell you when he needs to go, so if you don't have a constantly accessible open-back-door you need to be aware of when he'll need the bathroom. He won't tell you if he's busting to go! We tend to take him & Bax out very frequently so it's not an issue but something to be aware of.
OK, onto the interesting bit. Here's the piccies....
All asleep on the sofa. The more observant will notice that this privilege has recently been extended (on special occasions) to Bax.....
Same thing in doggy close-up:
Rory taking sensible precautions due to the proximity of Nikki's feet:
Rory & Bax dozing together....
And waking .....
More cozying-up
And one more shot....
Video: Rory, Bax & some bloke from the 50s playing football:
Silent Movie: Rory & Bax having rings run round them by a 4-y-old
Video: What the postman saw. If we leave Bax & Rory alone at home, this is what welcomes us when we return. Often wonder what the postman makes of it if he happens to deliver during that time....
Back to some pictures.....
Rory the film star:
More Rory:
Does my nose look big in this?
Rory contemplative:
And on that note, the boy himself along with the rest of the household have descended upon me so time to post this & go to watch TV!
