Buzz was found wandering, no history. Thought to be around 5/6 years old. Buzz has parts of Deerhound in him, parts of collie in him and parts of greyhound in him and parts of Angel. I picked him up today from his mixed Rescue. He had gone out to a new home but on leaving him for work he was distressed and suffered separation anxiety. They brought him back to the mixed Rescue again. Their loss is someone Else's gain. Because I went to pick up this lad and the first thing he did on meeting Ripley puppy was to play bow and bop him and Ripley mouthed him. Buzz was gentle and happy to meet another hound. He leaned on his kennel owner and snuggled his head into her lap. He is a dog that obviously bonds very easily with his humans. I was smitten. I could have easily cancelled the transport run and taken him home as the twin for Megan. Buzz is off to sunny Poole tomorrow to be fostered. He is having a short stopover in Surrey, so expect overnight photos folks. I have taken a couple on my phone and will add them later.

Buzz is in the building! and what a delightful dog he is. He greeted the girls very politely and has shown little sign of being 'amorous', although I suspect that he needs to be relieved of two little weights before he embarrasses himself. He traveled really well and only popped up when the sat nav said turn left ;D At the moment he is in a large crate and having been fed, is sound asleep, bless. I walked him earlier and he seemed a bag of nerves, which is either down to a strange environment or he has been worked (or both, of course) but he immediately relaxed when we got home and I gave him a Huge fuss and told him that 'he don't work no more'. He does seem very keen to please and has tried to follow me around, so it looks like he will be trainable and just needs a 'firm but fair' human to guide him. A few piccys that we got earlier before it was too dark. So, thats about it, hotel tonight and onwards to his new foster Mum tomorrow who can pick up the thread and keep us updated on this lovely lad..........its been a privilege.

Oh bless!
Yep I reckon he's been worked alright...
He does look a bit worried. Safe now, Buzz. Onwards and upwards!

He is such a gentle soul and so eager to please. He does that typical 'calm and placate' behaviour that we see so often in hard worked dogs He's one very smart cookie too, very much a collie brain and he will be very quick to adapt to his new life Right now he's having some very well earned zzzzzzz's

Buzz has had a really good night and slept in his crate right through to 7.00 this morning. But since then, he's been constantly reminding me why I don't do boys: Do they have to pee everywhere He's just eaten a good breakfast and will be on his way to Tailwind later this morning

What a beautiful lad.
Apologies, I'm new here and don't know how to quote a post, but Wipuki, what does this comment mean please? "He does that typical 'calm and placate' behaviour that we see so often in hard worked dogs "

"He does that typical 'calm and placate' behaviour that we see so often in hard worked dogs " Hi Julesb. Some handlers use aggressive or intimidating techniques to make the dogs work for them and some dogs develop particular submissive mannerisms that 'calm and placate' the handler concerned. I'm so glad he arrived safely Yvonne. Thank you so much to Jenny, Reva, Romi and, of course, my lovely hubby for doing all the driving

Thanks Wipuki, I'm beginning to understand why some ex-working dogs have the problems they do, poor little souls

BUzz was great on his first night here ,he had a good walk then i asked him to go to bed at 11pm ,he got in his crate and i didnt hear a peep all night ,even when i got up at 630am he just looked up at me and said ohhhhhh morning and went out side for wees. He went back into his crate at 8am while i took the kids to their schools ,Not so much as a peep, still asleep at 9 when i got back ,he has had his breakfast and is snoozing on the decking,he has said hello to my rabbits and ferrets ,and whilst they are very secure he dosent attempt to hurt them ,he is booked in for neutering ,teeth cleaning etc on thursday morning,he has been good on his walks ,although once it got dark and all the foxes came out ,he became very alert,i explained to him he is out for a night time stroll and dosnt have to work anymore

Yvonne, So glad he is such a lovely chap. Look forward to seeing him on Whitecliff. Perhaps he could teach Monty some manners! (see separate thread!) all the best. Colin.

What a handsome boy you are Buzz! Best of luck in finding your new home ;D I'm sure it will be along very soon, especially with those eyes! Bless you Buzz. My kind of hound - got a soft spot for the 'fuzzies'

Buzz was neutered, had a tooth extracted that was rotten, and had his nails clipped and was microchipped. Yvonne emailed to say that he was doing well. Afraid another Vet bill of over £200. But he is so lovely, and no-one could see a dog in pain with toothache.
