Oh Jane, its fantastic to see her looking so happy and content. So glad there is a pond for her to dip into too........was one of her favourite hobbies at Dad's! Really glad to hear things are going well at present. I have everything crossed that nothing changes! I am so sorry not to have been able to meet you, however, I was away when you came down with Eddie so didnt get the opportunity. Please know how grateful we all are that you have given Cassie this chance and I hope she continues to settle well for you. The pictures are beautiful and such reassurance that we are doing the right thing. Look forward to more updates and thanks again. Thanks also to Jenny and Kate who facilitated this so thoughtfully. Fingers crossed all continues well x x x

I don't know what to say! Cassie looks so at home. How good it is to see her with Bessie. I hope against hope that she will fit in well and be settled and behave herself. My tears are mostly of happiness that she is being given a chance and also because I miss her. Thank you to Jane and her Mum and Dad for giving my baby a chance of happiness and love.Pat

I cant imagine how painful it must be for Cassie's family - such a brave decision - , but I have some lovely news to report today which may cause happy tears..... Cassie had her first run off lead in a small secure park today. She's been going there on lead from day 1 and today she ran free and played ball with some collie-types. Im teary as I type it - I imagine my soppy Dad was much the same as he watched her! He says she was perfectly behaved and well mannered even tho, no matter how fast she chased, she didnt manage to get the ball as the collies leapt and took it out of the air (of course!) and Cass hasnt learnt that yet - only her 1st attempt after all !! Mum has been working on her recall, sit-stay etc in the garden (with pork) with great success - she learns amazingly fast. Her and Bessie were also left at home for a few hours at the weekend with the neighbour as a spy, and not a peep was heard, not a thing out of place. And Im sure Bess would have grassed her up of she had been a nuisance! So all is still looking good....yay!!

Such good news. I am still finding her tennis balls in strange places and deflated footballs. Will the tears ever stop whenever I think of her and see her looking so happy in the pics?? I hope she continues to behave and learn from Bessie and her new Mum and Dad. XXX

I've had a call today... it seems things are settling down between Bess and Cassie, there's been much improvement. An appointment has been made with a behaviourist for the two of them shortly but things are looking much better! Fingers and paws crossed, Cassie will be able to stay where she is.

Yes, its true - Cassie and Bess seem to have called a truce and are living in harmony - for most of the time at least, with Bess calling most of the shots and Cass complying pretty regularly. Mum is delighted as she has put so much love, patience and effort into making this happen, not to mention dealing with Dad, who is now besotted but didnt initially like being taken out of his comfort zone! I guess he finally realised he would be more likely to be kicked out than Cassie! Of course, its now him who mollycoddles her while Mum is no doubt thinking 'i told you so' ! So I hope dear Pat and her daughters can now breathe a sigh of relief that their littlle girl is in a lovely new home. I speak for all her daughters - 2 legged and four - we are damn lucky to have a mum likr her ! xxxx Mum may not thank me for putting a 1st thing in the morning photo on the forum! It's tough being me......... OK - Ive gazed at you pitifully for a while....can I have my ball back now?
