Jessie is such a beautiful girl, I love her. If only I could extend my pack by one more... do you think Mark would notice her

How absolutely gorgeous. What do you think dad was? With their colouring I would lay money on a lab. Any other suggestions?

Is there any latest news on Jessie finding a forever home yet?

I'm afraid Jessie won't be put up for adoption for another 8 weeks. And it would be nice if she could be adopted out with one of her pups, if there is one that she particular clings to. She is coming on really well. She walks brilliantly on the lead, is good at meal times, waiting her turn for her bowl to be dished up. She takes her turn for treats. She is a brilliant nursing mum. Jessie has a real fear of any new men coming in, so much so that she cowers. She is also scared of some women. My son arrived for the weekend last night and still hasn't made friends with her yet. Whatever has happened to her, has given her a very real fear. She has a laceration around her back end, which must have been done a few weeks back, between the tail and the vulva Don't know how or why. She has several small scars and had two cigarette burns on her. Some of the smaller scars could have been in the road accident. It is going to be a slow process I'm afraid. And no..... we are not keeping another one. We will get there and she will get there. As much as I totally have fallen in love with her the home kennel here is full.

Poor little love! She looks at Jenny with so much love and trust, how can anyone hit or burn a dog or any animal for that matter? I'll never ever understand people like that Our first Lurcher was very much like Jessie. She wet herself when someone entered the room on many occations. So sad to see, but she got there in the end and ended up a failed foster of course ;D

I have asked Fishlayer if he can fish (excuse the pun) out some photos of Grendel and put on, so you can see how he looked, and how he looks now. Little Mia is very very feminine and has a fine head. Bit Phoebe is a very chunky girlie as is Miss Elly and Gracie at the mo. Jenny Wrenn is very feminine. All their ears are starting to fold over now.

Just think how much Jessie has come on so far, considering her hell of a life just weeks before Jenny (our angel) swooped in and rescued her. I cried reading the latest update, HOW, just HOW COULD THEY But that is and will be in time her past, she will one day run without a worry in the world. Love you Jessie x x P.S. I hope so much that she has the chance to be rehomed with her pup x

Sorry Mike, but it would be better if she went to a quiet home, and perhaps a home where there was just a mummy, as men as her worst nightmare. She now trusts and has bonded with Michael. Even some women scare her. She has a lovely loving nature. Is gentle when she knows you, wants to please, is fantastic on the lead, absolutely no pulling. She is good with the gang unless they get too near the pup area, but not nasty, just watches them. But Esme is allowed to go and look. They have a little bond. She is not food aggresssive despite her terrible starved condition that she arrived in. She sits for treats and takes them nicely. She likes quiet. Wags her tail ferociously when you have been out for a while. She is just lovely, but needs someone quiet and patient and with time to unload her baggage. I think she is a fantastic dog and if we weren't up to our limit I wouldn't send her on, but I have to.

Hi Liz, If you got back into Chat in the General section, Jessie has a lovely thread running with photos of her and the pups. I will put some more on here later today. 3 of the pups are definitely reserved now and a possible fourth. We are only letting them go to thebest possible homes. No-one who works. We made indepth enquiries. And tlc for life.

Oh thanks for the update
I was waiting to see how they were progressing before pos sibly applying. Guess I will be too late by the time they are ready to leave. I am surprised that they are already reserved, although be it good news, have the people viewed them at home already to be able to choose the right one for them or is it just you have chosen the right sort of home and then the people get to choose?
In my case it has to be the right dog to fit in with my lot thats why I was hanging on to see the size and type of lurcher, not just because they are puppies.
Thanks again, and I am sure that you have found the very best of homes for them. Its good to know that they will get into a home asap to be able to get their socialisation skills.

Yep, we have found the best possible homes for them and we know for definite that Miss Elly and Marley are going to certain homes. One of the fawn girlies is going to a previous adopter, and she is not fussed. Pups are an unknown quantity, so their character won't develop until they are around 3 months old, just socializing and experiences can be done now and this little lot are very socialized. Even with all the jokes about mastiff and pitbulls, we can see that they are going to mostly resemble Jessie, who is a lean beauty, and all those wrinkles just make for longer noses. No, we can't say for sure who the father was. That's a difficult one. But we'd like to think that he was tall, blonde and handsome.

Yes I agree you cant tell unless you know the parentage and then its a game of wait. Ive seen purpose bred lurchers have litters that are totally unlike either of the parents and a throw back to many generations back.. Mostly with lurchers anyway its a bit of a guessing game. People can tell you its got this and that in it, but its all a bit of a guessing game really. I also agree that you cant tell the temperment either. A Puppy is a puppy after all.

She's done brilliantly considering the size of the pups and the size of the litter. We are so proud of her. she is now becoming more playful with us and the other dogs. She is just a baby herself.

And not only this, Gilly. Considering she has been at Jenny and Michael for only just over a month now, after giving birth to a big litter and feeding those big puppies, she is doing remarkably well. And I think this is mainly due to Jenny's and Michael's dedicated care. Even though, motherhood and feeding responsibilities must have taken out a lot of that wee little girl. Thanks for that lovely piccie, Jenny. Little mummy Jessie looks gorgeous and I'm sure she is beginning to enjoy life a lot more now you are giving her a helping hand with her babies. Viviane. X
