PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR ELLIE UNLESS YOU CAN MEET HER CRITERIA. We need a home where there is one or two other Deerhounds, or Deerhound x lurchers around, and preferably male. We need a home where someone in the family only works part-time, that is four hours out of the house, not four hours out and back for lunch and four hours out again. She is doing really well and is being left for up to 3 hours now and we don't want Ellie to be regress on her stress when being left. She has a lovely disposition, but being a big dog we would prefer not to have toddlers in the family. Thank you. Ellie, who Jill looked after last year for a friend, now needs a home. She is around 31" at the shoulder. People, child and other dog friendly. Good on the lead. Recall varies, but she loves her home cuddles. We think at this point that we are looking for a home where someone is around part of the day and also a home with another hound dog around, preferably a male. She is fine, but has lived with a male and is comfortable with males. Ellie has only just finished a season so will not be able to be neutered for another 10 weeks, so any Adopter will be entering into a neutering contract. Ellie is currently being fostered in St. Albans, Herts.

We picked up Ellie from Jill's (dollymixture) yesterday and she's doing really well. Initially she was quite nervous of Fionn and Tipton, but she grumped at Tipton when he was pestering her (he's keeping his distance now ;D ) Fionn's quite unsure of her, and is watching her out of the corner of his eye. But they're all asleep together in the living room now. She's a very fussy eater. She's not food orientated at all, and is not interested in her dinner or treats. We've been out for a walk and she behaved beautifully. She has the most wondeful nature, and loves giving kisses! She likes Tipton and Fionn. They're being very gentle with her. Fionn and Ellie keep standing face to face and wagging their tails at each other. They're both quite shy, bless them. We had an interesting walk this morning, as we met lots of dogs. She was quite excited at first, but then got a bit nervous of them all. She grumbled at some bouncy males who were being in her face, which is fair enough. She's brilliant with Fionn and Tipton, and even tried to play with Fionn this morning. Here she is. She's so gorgeous

Plus she's actually about 33" to the shoulder She's a big'un She's going to need careful and gentle socialisation this girl, patience and lots of time. A lot of things are quite overwhelming for her right now so it's a case of taking things slow

Aaaaaah! I want her! I want her! I want her! Why am I only allowed 3 dogs? Who wants room on the settee anyway? She's gorgeous Rowan and you are so lucky. Perhaps I could ask the OH if we could foster her for a while, then change the locks when he goes out, and never let her go. Romi. x

She is utterly, utterly gorgeous. I was surprised to hear she was 33".....she certainly doesn't look it. ...I'd say more 30"-31". Did you use a measuring stick?

Well Fionn is 31" and she looks taller than him but we tried measuring her and she actually is about 31"- but her back end is kind of taller than her shoulders at the mo which sounds weird I know and she's longer and heavier built than Fionn so does seem bigger.

What a fantastic girlie - she is beautiful and sounds like a nice, calm temperament under it all. Like everyone else on this thread - WE WANT HER!
She is going to be very popular - lucky you Rowan for getting the benefit of her company in the meantime - you will do wonders bringing her out of her shell and settling her down.

She's definitely a big girlie, but a lovely one. We took some time out from the pups yesterday and over to see Ellie and take some food and her SLR collar and a lovely pink coat that I think Salukigoddess donated (I may have that wrong ), but it almost fits her and she looks lovely in pink. She is a pedigree and came with kennel club papers. I only got a few photos. Not that good, but it is hard to get her in one go Wow, did she and Finn look lovely together.
