Well done everyone involved. Words cannot express how I feel about people who can do this to a poor defenceless animal. I lost a pet rabbit as a child because my neighbour picked her up by her ears and threw her into my garden, breaking her back!!! Cant wait till I get home to see his pix xxxx

As promised some piccies and an update. He had a pretty good night considering. He did howl a bit (well a lot actually) and we had to give him a loo break at 2 o'clock this morning. Me sleeping on the settee soon settled him down though He's eaten everything I've put in front of him and the little sod darling even tried to countersurf this morning Mind you, he needs to eat: he is so skinny The poor mite's 'war wound' I reckon he's a Saluki/Whippet/Greyhound mix and will probably grow up another 2-3" Proof of the Saluki X .......... he's got the PDSS down to perfection What's really wonderful is, that despite how he must have been treated, he's still a joyful, playful, happy little character who has no obvious fear or dislike of humans at all. In fact quite the opposite Right onto the technical stuff. The vets said he's got to have 5 minute walks every hour or so, massage and physiotherapy on the leg each time he goes for a walk and, eventually he'll need hydrotherapy to build up his muscles. He's on metacam and ABs at the moment too and several small meals a day. He'll be off to see Aunty Alyson on Saturday or Monday for post op check up. So it looks like we're gonna' be a bit busy for a while Still, it keeps me out of mischief .....

Just to say I loved helping to get this little man back for Mark & Donna. He was so good even after all he's been thru, with a cuddle on the way home and a greeting from my girls he had his tail sraight up wagging it with happiness. I am sure with all the love and care he's going to get now he has no more bad times ahead. SLR really are the GREATEST!!!!!

Well done to everybody involved, done a great job! Considering what he's been through lately it's not really surprising he looks so skinny, poor boy. But he is still so young and will forget and after a few decent meals will soon start to fill out a bit more. He will be a stunning little boy. Viviane. X

Hes a loverly young lad. Do you think he could have been on the run IE terrified of traffic etc and been hit by, a car and then thrown over the fence? Sore pads sound to me as if, panic had set in and he was on the run from something.

Sore pads sound to me as if, panic had set in and he was on the run from something. What you suggest is entirely plausible Dave, but as with the majority of dogs that come into SLR's care he arrived with no history, so what happened to him will probably always be a matter of conjecture. As other folks have said, the main thing is that the lad's now in the best possible hands & can look forward to a decent future.

Yes Barney. I do understand it was just a thought, that was all. Dave. No criticism intended mate - I know we've all wondered what actually happened to the poor wee mite.

::)Beggars belief at the treatment these dogs go through and yet they bounce back with tons of love to give. A lesson so many of the human race needs to learn is not baring grudges.. He is a cutie
