Jenny must stop sending me the gorgeous handsome well behaved ones !!!!! ;D That might prove a tad difficult, as all our hounds score at least two out of the three - your guess as to which!

... just a very quick update on Prince Maxwell's progress... When he first arrived he would bolt out the front door ... me running behind him trying to get him back .... now (4 weeks later) he bolted again out the front door, i called his name and he skidded to a holt and came straight back to Mummy ... yay He also didnt know how to ask to go out for a wee, he now gives a little cry by the back door .... what a clever boy He has come on so far, his recall is now brilliant, he is happy, playful, full of beans and an absolute joy to have .... someone will be a very, very lucky Mummy Kate x

... Max passed another test this morning with flying colours ... I wanted to see how he would be if i left him on his own for an hour !!!! so i took the other two out for a walk and left Max in the playroom with a bone .... after some initial crying he settled down so out we went... Whilst on the walk i had images of coming home to chewed doors and no carpet left but nothing He was laying on his bed fast asleep .... BUT was very very very excited to see us again ....

Thought i would try him a bit longer today - so took my boys out for 2 hours and left him asleep on the sofa .... when i came back he was still asleep in same position So i feel as long as he has a good long run in the morning he will now be absolutely fine left on his own for a couple of hours. He hasnt chewed a thing since he has been here .... apart from his toys ;D

just another quick update on Prince Maxwell .... We had visitors this afternoon - a 2 year old i wondered how Max would react and he was gorgeous - this boy does not have one bad bone in his body .... he let the boy pull his ears, cuddle him, try to sit on him - and all Max wanted to do was lick him all over .... he is a true gent He also loves my cats to bits - he tries to play with my male cat all the time, and Oscar loves it - they soft bite each other and then end up licking ..... He has come on so far since he arrived - his confidence is growing every day and he is an absolute joy to be around. He doesnt eat cats, he doesnt eat rabbits, he doesnt eat kids what more could anyone want .... i love him to bits. Kate xxxx

Havent updated his thread for a while because he is such a good boy .... the only change in him, is his confidence .... it is now rocketing, Indy has to put him in his place sometimes and remind him of his manners He is a changed dog from when he first came here ..... I cant quite get over his recall, we were up the Common this morning and he spotted a group of pheasants ... he ran over as fast as he could as they all started to run... i just blew the whistle, he stopped in his tracks and came running back for his treat What a good boy. Please remember that when this boy runs with another Lurcher he is like Lightening .... you have to make sure you keep clear We are happily plodding on and waiting for the right home .... Kate, Indy & Max xxxxxxx

... I can now leave the front door open and not have to put him on a lead, he races out the front and waits behind my car .... so problem with him bolting has also been cured .... I just think he hadnt been taught many rules and boundaries, and now he knows them all Good boy Max

Sound like he is improving every day Kate can't believe he has not been snapped up wish my dogs had recall like that. The only thing they sound like they have in common with your lurcher's is just keep out of harms way when they're both on the loose and grasp the nearest tree while still upright. ;D ;D And one of mine is not even a lurcher.
