.... here in Romsey .... His lovely owners drove him all the way from Milton Keynes and he travelled really well in the car ... we went for a walk on arrival with Indy and they got on brilliantly - lots of lurcher running and playing ... they are the perfect match !!!! His problem in the past has been separation anxiety as his owners work full time - he is obviously best suited to someone who is around most of the time or works short hours .... he absolutely loves the company of other dogs and the kids ... so would love to see him go to a home with a playmate. He has slotted in perfectly .... they have just all had tea together with no cross words - there has been no crying just lots of playing... havent taken a picture yet as he hasnt stayed still for long enough ... but he reminds me of Winnie ... Once he settles into to his foster home i will update you again with some pictures ..... He is a beautiful honey coloured Saluki/Greyhound .... a little bit nervous of strangers but not for long... he has gone up and sniffed both the cats and then just walked away (so fingers crossed). We think he is about 2 years old. Thank you to Julie and Bob for bringing this lovely boy to me, you have definately done the right thing and i will keep you all posted with his progress... Kate xx (can this post go to Hounds Needing Homes - thank you xx)

No farts so far ..... just no room on the bloomin sofa .... 2 lurchers and a spaniel take up far too much room !!!! And i cant tell him off cos he does the Princess Diana look so well !! So far so good, he is perfect ....!! but alas he is a lurcher so waiting for the naughty boy to appear ..... I must add he is brilliant with the children and just follows them around waiting for cuddles ..... and then back to shoving me off the sofa ..... mmmmmmmmm Kate x

Yep we will be there on saturday .... looking forward to it - maybe we could all meet inside the entrance at 12.00 - I'm sure we can all spot each other ;D ;D
I must also add that he is now laying in the lounge with both cats, 2 kids, and 2 dogs ..... he gets on with them all - PERFECT xx
He hasnt wanted to chase the cats at all, just sniffs and ignores .... but likes eating their dinner !!!!!!!!!!!

He is indeed an absolute smasher Kate, & as you say, looks not unlike Winnie, which can't be bad.
It'll be fascinating to see how his character unfolds as he finds his feet with you, & which of all our hounds this most resembles, (the Hooligans are of course already non-runners, since Max is o.k. with cats. ).

Well first night was too good to be true (might regret saying that!!)..... He actually slept in his crate WITH Indy (they dont like to be parted for long) and didnt hear a peep out of any of them till 8 this morning .... and once again i am perched on the end of the sofa whilst 3 dogs are snuggled up behind me ..... Off to the new forest today .... lets see how much fun they can have there ... Kate xx

some more pics ........ A very handsome Max .... Where am i supposed to sit ..... We have a habit in this house of having 'silly' dogs names ... (hence the artful dodger and indiana jones!!) ... so we had to lengthen max..... we have come up with 'Prince Maxwell' - it suits him perfectly xx

You are all correct, he is a smashing dog, and we are missing him very much, but it was the right thing for MAX. Please find him a loving home with a friend. Thanks Kate. Julie & Bob

Brilliant update. Seeing how well he is doing with dogs around him I agree Julie, he needs a best friend. You know we won't let him go until it is just perfect.

Quick update on Prince Maxwell this morning ..... another very quiet night from him - he slept in his crate from 10 last night till 7 this morning ..... was very excited to see us all this morning so straight out for a long walk ..... In typical Saluki style he has very selective hearing when off the lead .... i am only letting him off in a secure field until we can try and get him to come back to the whistle !!! could take some time He is still a bit wary of new people and surroundings, can be a bit skittish, but I am sure, given time, he will settle down perfectly. He is totally clean in the house and ABSOLUTELY LOVES both my dogs .... so i would say he definately needs to go to a home with a playmate to stop the SA returning ... He is one of the best looking dogs i have ever seen ... he is eating well and generally fitting in perfectly .... One tip .... don't leave your front door open .... he's off like lightening .... Kate xx
