Hi Gilly, I hope you are able to give Ollie a home, I had him for 13 weeks & he is the the most loveable, gentle chap around the house. He is very cuddly & loving. We were just unable to give him the freedom he needs, in a very cat dominated area. I've been checking his progress daily since Keith has had him back as i've really missed him & have been waiting eagerly to see him rehomed. He has great patience with other dogs (we have a Westie) & I've never seen such amazing behaviour around kids of all ages & as young as 18 months. I hope your home check goes ok & I wish you & Ollie lots of happy years together. Bron x

Hi Bron, Thank you for your heart felt message, it must be hard but I do understand how your feeling. As a dog groomer I often see my customers having to go through similar situations and it's not easy. My home check went well and we passed, Joy loved our Lurcher Sammy and the Jack Russell's Daisy and Roxy. We are just discussing a few final things but I have all my fingers crossed that Ollie will be coming home to us. If we are so luck I will promise to stay in touch with regular updates and pics. Take care and chat soon, Gilly

So glad Ollie will be going to a new home, he sooo deserves it. Our family were Ollie's first foster family and we all loved him- he was the most trusting, loving boy. And Ollie LOVES to play- I'm sure Keith's noticed that too - he couldn't get enough of full-on wrestling games here and he and our lurcher Fionn would be out every 20 minutes to have a match in the garden when the weather was good He was so happy with a playmate his size ( for said wrestling) and just taking himself off and burning off his energy in the garden while we were going about our business and then coming in for cuddles- and then repeating it. I hope Sammy's prepared for mega lurcher play

Poor Ollie was set on by a German Shepherd whiilst out on his evening walk with Keith and the dogs. Keith rushed him into the local vets who have operated on him. He is being released this morning but has numerous stitches. We are all greatly upset as Ollie is such a lovely dog. Barney will be along to update shortly.

O no poor Ollie I remember meeting him when we went on the St Albans walk earlier in this year and he was with Rowan and family he is such a laid back lovely dog, sending him good wishes for a speedy recovery. Its just the last thing any one needs when we have a foster dog are dogs fights or even with our own dogs. Hope Keith and his other hounds are OK as well.

Ollie is currently lying on the office floor behind my chair, & appears to be suffering no discomfort. He walked out of the surgery quite normally, with a waggy tail, hopped straight into the houndmobile, & was totally unfazed by the welcome he received from the Hooligans, (he'd already met Mickey, as I took him with me to the vets). The home crew have been very gentle with him, & Ollie has once again proved what a super laid-back lad he is.
Healing thoughts for the boy will be appreciated, as 'tis a nasty wound, but we all know how resilient Lurchers are, & I'm sure he'll quickly bounce back.

Many healing thoughts for Ollie - and Keith - bet you were shaken up Keith. Such an awful thing to happen. However, as you say lurchers bounce back very quickly. Joy x

My poor Ollie, I feel so sorry for him I'm glad he's feeling ok, and give him lots of kisses from me All the Blackmores are thinking of him, and hopefully he'll soon be back on his feet. Hope you're ok too Keith, it must have been horrible for you

The damage inflicted on Ollie by the GSD:
I have to say that Ollie's liking for chicken nuggets is in no way affected!

Poor mite. And he is looking in superb condition too Gilly has been informed before we started these posts and has the pictures. It is always a shock when one of our dogs is hurt, and thank god Keith was near the vets.

OMG quite a big wound...... ( GSD can cause quite a lot of damage, and this had to happen almost just before Olli went into his forever home......... it's just heart breaking..........! However, he could not be in better hands after his operation than at uncle Barney's........ He looks so brave in the picture - hope he's not in pain too much. Viviane. X

Ollie couldn't have been in better hands Gilly - as I've said before, Keith is one of the very few people on this planet that I'd trust implicitly to look after my own hounds. We'll keep that as a surprise for him - he's snoozing just outside the office door, & I don't want to disturb him, even with that splendid news!

What a terrible thing to happen!! He sounds to be taking it all in his stride though - hope Keith has recovered from the shock.
