Ollie does NOT like cats and this has resulted in him killing a cat. Where he lives with his current owners, they are surrounded by cats in a housing estate and they feel that they can't get away from them on walks. We have suggested that he be muzzled and they use a halti, but understand now that he has been causing them concern since May. They do not have the time to drive him to parkland to have off-lead exercise so Ollie has been on lead since May and is very very frustrated. Ollie is a typical young lurcher, approximately 22 months old now, and he does have the cat chase in him. We are looking for a home where someone only works part-time. He is good to be left, but not for long hours. A home where he can be exercised more often. Other lurchers in the family would also be good. Ollie gets on well with other dogs. He is house trained, a good dog indoors and currently living with a West Highland Terrier and children. If you think that you can give Ollie an active life and a new start where he will be loved away from cats then please get in touch. All prospective adopters will be homechecked. We only rehome within 200 miles of Harlow in Essex.

I don't remember how tall he is but I fostered him and I can guarantee he is very cuddly, so much so that he'd come for a cuddle and be so relaxed that he'd fall asleep on the sofa next to you He really is a sweetheart.

Ollie arrived back in the SLR fold this afternoon, & is initially being fostered by Keith. He's in superb condition, (Ollie, that is - the jury's still out on Keith ).
Ollie is extremely laid back, & didn't bat an eyelid when confronted by seven hounds on entering the home-kennel.
This handsome lad has a lovely nature, & is very affectionate. He made an excellent impression in the short time he was here - friendly with dogs & humans alike, (he's fine with kids too), obedient, & will make some lucky family a wonderful canine companion.

On hold? And come on Keith, can't you persuade Brenda to let you keep him? He could pretend to be a greyhound And I remember that sad eyes look very well, he used it all the time here, which usually resulted in lots of cuddles He's looking so handsome, I wish I could see him, he looks like a different dog. Well done Bron, you've worked wonders with him

Ollie is definitely up for adoption again. There may have been a possibility of him returning to his adoptive home, but the sad decision has been made for him to be rehomed. Can I point out that Ollie has a lovely loving nature, is good with children, with other dogs of all types and is a true Lurcher. Many dogs hate cats - fact - and Ollie is one of them. We have 6 cat hating dogs here. We take precautions by muzzling them when there is a hint of a cat situaton when out walking. As long as they get their quota of exercise, which Ollie is now doing, and having a blast with Keith, as you can see, they are happy to have their muzzles on. Ollie has come back out of his shell and into his old self. He is a fantastic dog. Lurchers need that blast. Poor Ollie has been resigned to a lead since May. His face and expressions have now changed back into happy mode. All Ollie needs is a loving home where his new family will be prepared to take him for a good fun walk at least twice a day. Another Lurcher around would be lovely for Ollie. And the reward.... a superb loving happy hound forever.

Hi Keith, I did get you email but not sure how to reply. Jason spoke to Barney after we arrived back from holiday & i expect he explained. The photo's are lovely, he looks so happy with you chaps & enjoying his freedom. I keep checking to see if he has a home as he's such a lovely boy, he deserves the best. Bye for now, Bron

Hi,
I think Ollie sounds and looks like a very special boy, my Lurcher Sammy is the same with cats but we handle this fine. I am having a home check tomorrow and all being well I would love a beautiful boy like Ollie. Fingers crossed. :-)
