One more note about Cai, not sure about where he cat-unfriendly ness comes from. Over the last couple of days we have seen three cats whilst he has been on lead and he has looked but not really paid them any attention. Also, whilst Max and Cai were playing in the undergrowth along a walk Max started barking ... a lot. Cai and Maisie came back to me. So, I put those two on lead and went off to find Max. He had cornered a Cat and was giving it a right telling off as it wouldn't come down off the fence to play two interesting points, first I am guessing Cai saw the cat but returned, and secondly as soon as I got to Max he submitted and rolled over as if to say "I know I was being naughty, but I was having so much fun " Andrew/ Pack Leader and they will do as they are told.

It was felt allround that Cai was not cat friendly after he killed Rowan's guinea pig. He hadn't seemed that keen so we weren't worried, and hadn't seemed bothered by birds e.t.c- but that was misleading. He took the opportunity while the hutch was open, he was very quick and wily, so we know the instinct is in him. It seemed like he had been used for coursing so it was better to be safe than sorry. But glad to hear Cai is behaving himself.

I can understand that, but during the course of his two week stay, I also took him to visit a friend with Cats and, once again, did not show any serious interest, although I did keep him on lead at all times he did not pull that much.
Any way, he ... sob ... has ... sob, sob ... left now to his new home so we'll see and wait for any updates from his new owner Suzanna.

p.s. I weighed him just before he left and he is up to 28kg, and looking much better for it.

Ah, the beautiful Cai is gone. Best of luck. I've now moved my 'favourite' status to the fabulously named Bruce. He looks a bit like a NZ farm dog lurcher and ,with a name like that ,would blend right in.

Absolutely lovely to hear that he is doing well. He still needs a firm command Suzanne, but it will be so worth while. He is stunning.
