Shadow has left the building and currently on his way back to st.albans .......with paul, emma, and children. meanwhile, here, this is me we so loved shadow, and i know i say that about all my foster doggies, but shadow is very special, and we came such a long way with him, in such a short while. he was a nervous wreck when he got here, and he blossomed and developed so much, and loving every bit of attention that he got. had a job to get him into paul and emmas car, so i got in and he immediately jumped in with me. Sorry i couldn't come with you shadow ....but we have found you the most perfect home where you will be loved and cherished, and we are always here for you, if ever you need us. thank-you for being so special shadow, and we will watching your progress in your new home. love you ...........

Yay! ;D Well done Shadow I knew you'd win their hearts! I'm so excited about meeting him, and we'll make sure he's welcomed into the lurcher fold here. We know exactly how you're feeling Nina, it's so hard letting them go when you've fallen for them. But rest assured he'll be loved to bits, they've been waiting for a dog like Shadow for so long and he'll be cherished for the rest of his life.

Sorry I didn't answer your PM Nina, I've only just seen it - it looks like any reply would be too late now! For what it's worth, Shadow was, of course, great with my children ;D. As I said before, it was just Percy who had a problem with him, otherwise we'd have loved for him to have stayed. I'm so pleased he's off to his new home, because as you've said, he's such a special boy. He was only with us a day, and had already made a place in our hearts too. Good luck Shadow, you deserve it (Oh, and I'm still finding random bits of banana in my car too Laylah, even after I hoovered and washed it inside!)

Well, we met Shadow and the his new family this morning on our walk. Shadow looked so happy, and the children love him. He's already gotten attached to Emma and even their dog Daisy has been licking his ears affectionately. He was off lead and behaved beautifully, and he loved our Fionn and wouldn't leave him alone. Hopefully they'll be able to play together soon. And luckily I had my camera so here are so pictures of the gorgeous boy. He's such a character, and I can see why Nina got so attached: Saying hello to Fionn: Fionn, Shadow, and Daisy, Shadow's new sister on the right; They aren't very good I'm afraid, I might put a couple up later if photobucket will let me.

Lovely pix Rowan, thanks for posting them so quickly. Shadow is conked out on the floor at the moment - although Daisy did consent to have him on the sofa for a little while. Oh, he's just woken up and climbed up next to me on the other sofa. (Probably wants to see what I'm writing about him.) He slept pretty well last night, although we're hoping he doesn't make a habit of wanting tp go out at 5.15 in the morning. He had a lovely time today making new friends out on the heath and watching me digging the garden, All in all, a great first 24 hours. Thanks Nina and Pete, and we'll carry on your great work.

they are fantastic photos rowan, especially that last one !! he is such a good looking man, thanks for posting them. i am so pleased he is settling down with you, paul and emma, and i know he will love the attention from the children. his happiness means everything to us, and we knew instantly that you were all so perfect for him. he asks for so little, but gives so much. hope he didn,t get you up again too early this morning, we never had that problem, he would come round and give a little lick, but having checked we were still there with him, would go back to his bed. think he knows we were not early risers i am sure by now he will have realised he has fell on his feet -well paws - again. the lovely thing about shadow , is that he is not just a one person dog, he is happy to share his affections with all the family. I also think he will probably be fine in the car, once he realises that he is staying with you, and not being moved on again. just lately, the only time he has been in the car he has been moved on again, so i can understand his concerns, bless him. thanks for posting paul, - love the name, shadsdad...brilliant. ;D please give shadow a big from us, and we look forward to hearing about his continued adventures. nina, pete and kayleigh x

Ahh, lovely photos. Paul has just emailed to say how lovely Shadow is and that they all love him very much. See Nina, you are a big part of that happening, and if you stop fostering because our hearts are broken, we stop that happening I bet you feel good now you have seen how happy he is. ;D It's very hard, fostering, because your whole heart goes to them, and it breaks when they go, but they need us missus.
