Oh bless, I hope you've got time to waste Keef, she'll pin you down on the sofa and you won't want to move. She does that greyhound thing where she comes and rests her head on your knee for a stroke. Popit is going my side of the bed i hope guys keefx She's been very good in our room, I must say. The only reason we had to have her in the crate was in case she went to say hello to Liz or Alfie in their beds as they wouldn't have liked that. Plus she came into season and we have a pale carpet and Alfie's urges to contend with. The last few nights, we've let her stay out on the rug until she decided to take herself off to bed. She's been quiet all through the night. X P.s. She wears a fleece jumper to sleep in. It's one thing I can't pass on as she's wearing one of Lizzie's and it's rather on the big side. Hope Annie has one to spare.

You do know that LURCHER is translated as "Thief" in Irish! Oh yes!! From Wikipedia (in case anyone's interested): Many meanings of the word 'lurcher' have been suggested: from the Romani words lur meaning thief and "cur" meaning a mixed dog breed, or from Middle English, from lorchen, to lurk, perhaps from lurken. Indeed the archaic meaning of the word lurcher is a prowler, swindler, or petty thief.[3] Poppy's not just a food or toy thief. I went to The Range this morning and bought a furry throw that I put on the dining table when I came in. Next thing I know, she's got it on the floor playing with it. She remembers where she's found things before too - she's been back up on the tub chair looking on the windowsill where she took the gnome from, and also looking on the radiator cover where she got hold of the biscuit jar! A little 'ah ah' seems to stop her though.

Off topic on Poppy's rehoming thread (but probably not too much of an issue now she has a home), according to Jack Hargreaves (only those over a certain age will recognise that name), the verb to lurch (i.e move from side to side) comes from the differing way that lurchers hunt and chase compared to greyhounds. I have put this clip up before but for those of you who didn't see it last time, here it is again.

Loz and Andrew, thank you so much for stepping in and fostering Poppy at short notice and over Christmas as well. With your love and care she seems to have done amazingly well. Initially we were going to foster her but it was not to be. We have followed her story with you on the forum - your write ups have been lovely to read. Alfie and Lizzie seem to have done well with her as well.
Keith, Brenda and Annie Wish you lots of happy times with Poppy. May see you at the next greyhound walks show.
Poppy - wishing you lots of love and happiness in your new home.
Love from Ann and Fred

Anne, I'm sorry you missed out on this little visitor. I hope things are going in the right direction.
We took little Pops down to Devon today to visit Toni. Had a lovely (if somewhat muddy) walk along the river.
Pops made herself right at home back at the cave, up on Toni's bed too, lol. She really has no hang ups at all.
Will add a couple of pics tomorrow.
