I think Ollie is feeling a bit sorry for himself today, he's got a proper limp on with his bandage and just being very quiet.
I'm keeping him and Leonard separate while I'm working as the vet prescribed lots of rest to help his foot heal, so he's in the next room on our bed while I work.
Thank you for all the healing vibes 😊

Bless him. I have so much love for this boy. I suspect he will play ' the old soldier' with his big bandage

Poor Ollie, and poor Leonard too......they must be a bit confused at being separated, but it is absolutely the best thing to do right now. As soon as Ollie is healed they can get back to all their loony games.

We've not had much to update with as Ollie's been on strict bed rest and minimal exercise since his op as it is in a super awkward place. The incision is right along one edge of his main pad on his front left foot, where it meets his skin if that makes sense. He's had 4 bandage changes so far - 2 extra ones due to the fact he has a habit of hitting his front feet when he does his massive morning wee! He's like a racehorse, honestly! Heres a cute photo of him being a very good boy having his new bandage done today. And sadly I've had to implement "the cone of shame" when he's unattended as he's decided to start licking the bandage today which he hasn't bothered with before.

Oh dear, perhaps he needs his bandage clingfilmed when he goes out for a wee. Sending more Heal-Fast Vibes from us lot. Hope it's not too long until he and Leonard can zoom together again.

yep, i think cling film may be the way to go. we've been doing a big freezer bag wrapped and taped to his leg, first time he decided to have a mad zoom round the garden, ripped the bag and ran through a puddle... then next time i don't even know how but maybe the wee ran down in the top of the bag... who knows! We shall try clingfilm now

Ollie is a cuddle monster! He was lying quite happy on our other sofa, but as soon as I sat down he came over and climbed on top of me! ❤

Poor boy, but it looks like he's using the resting opportunity to get lots of cuddles. I hope his foot heals soon so he can get rid of that cone of shame

He's stopped trying to lick the bandage again so no more cone 😀 I hope it's healed enough for him to lose the bandage tomorrow because it's a nightmare trying to keep him and Leonard calm. And having to put his plastic bag on his foot before he can even go out in the garden is troublesome!

And having to put his plastic bag on his foot before he can even go out in the garden is troublesome! I can imagine. He loves life so much, he can't wait to do anything and used to be very bouncy waiting while I put leads on when he was here for his hols. His cuddles are great - much better than my two - he likes to snuggle right in. Heal quickly, Ollie.

Sadly Ollie has to keep his bandage a bit longer It's not quite healed enough to be uncovered yet, being in such an awkward place it's taken a little longer than expected.

How frustrating for Ollie and you. Sending healing vibes to the gorgeous big boy. And wondering whether you are using Romi's waterproofing idea?! (Romi - I now cannot look at the clingfilm in my kitchen without smiling. Thank you for cheering up my day. xxx )
