He was quite happy modelling his new coats - the snazzy leopard skin one is from Boo's friend at Milgicoats and the waterproof one from han - very kind of them both. Han's one is bit big for Monty so I'll keep it for another SLR hound. The leopard skin one looks good on Ellie too, so I've ordered her one! Yes Heather, I've fallen for him too! He has got a bit tooooo much energy for us though! Love your new banner. I've got one that Michelle sent up to me. I think it may fit him so I will post it over. It has the added advantage of having reflective strips on it. I'll try to get a photo of it on Annie later. She is around the same size as him.

He's back home, bit groggy but reluctant to give in. Finally managed to get him to lay down. He's had a little chicken and rice. Jenny, his toenails are ok, look quite worn down really.

Bless him, I hope he recovers quickly and forgives you soon. A heads up, Saluki's are famous for whinging and singing after having had an anaesthetic, so I hope your night is not too disturbed

He just WILL NOT give in, I'm sure he needs a good nap! I do!

Zephyr did that - its very difficult to watch as you can see they are so tired but refuse to succumb. Zeph was back to normal the next day - I am sure Monty will be too. Pleased he's through the op - now you just have to keep him calm for 10 days!

Alfie was whinging in the middle of the night after the GA for his tumour removal...I'd totally forgotten that sight hounds can be like this.

Even Scruff was like this after a GA, and you don't get much LESS Saluki than him! Hope Monty gave in in the end and is feeling much better today.

He's fine, thanks all, it's us that's a bit shattered! Put the cone of shame on at bed time, popped him into his crate, was he having it? No way!!! An amazing range of vocal sounds followed so eventually Dave got up and slept on the sofa with Monty on a duvet on the floor. (He hasn't tried to get on the furniture at all.). I'll try again tonight, I think it's the collar he doesn't like, we can watch him during the day but he hasn't tried to lick the wound. I'll have to put it on him at night though. Keeping him quiet is going to be a challenge!

Could you use a pair of pants instead?

Yep pants or a childs onesie works well, also less scary for them.
