We do have them in the garden occasionally, I'll see. I don't know anyone who has a cat. I know he definitely is very interested in the squirrels. Will keep my fingers crossed - poor Tigger is so lonely. He does love 2 of our cats very much but I think he is missing lovely Bunter and their lurcher runs together. He's moping on the sofa a bit at the moment. Tigger loves to chase squirrels when out BTW - but he totally respects the cats in the house as they are the bosses! Fingers crossed Monty isn't TOO interested in squirrels!!! And thank you Jenny for your kind thoughts - much appreciated. X

I know when I had a dog and two cats, the dog left them alone, but would chase any outside ( especially the neighbour's next door! but they were all a bit weird, even the cat!). I think all dogs are interested in squizzels

HA! Ours don't run very often so there's no real incentive for anybody to chase them - and to be fair Tigger has chased a neighbour's cat, though I don't think with any ill intent; he simply loves to run. He tends to moderate his speed if he's running with a slower animal bless him. I think he thinks they are enjoying it as much as he is, which I suspect might not have been the case with the tabby from over the road unfortunately! First time I have tried to load a picture here - hope it's worked as he looks so sweet with the cats

Sue, you are working wonders with Monty. When we met at handover point this lad was petrified and shut down. The photos of him now show a huge leap forward in his rehabilitation thanks to you both. Still a long road for him, but he is having the best care and love with you.

We've followed all advice, not fussed him too much, letting him come to us - a work in progress ! He's very cheeky, steals pretty much anything! I've given up trying to keep him out of Rosie's bed, she doesn't mind, so I've made her up another. Very good at night, didn't whimper at all last night, slept all through. Have sent jenny a couple more pictures, I'm sure she'll put them on when she has time x

He was quite happy modelling his new coats - the snazzy leopard skin one is from Boo's friend at Milgicoats and the waterproof one from han - very kind of them both. Han's one is bit big for Monty so I'll keep it for another SLR hound. The leopard skin one looks good on Ellie too, so I've ordered her one!
Yes Heather, I've fallen for him too! He has got a bit tooooo much energy for us though! Love your new banner.

Monty was "child tested" yesterday . our daughter and son-in law and two grandsons came over for the day. The boys (5 & 9) were under strict instructions to be calm and quiet, which they were (amazingly!). Monty was a bit wary when they all came in, retreated to his crate, but came out for a Bonio. He stayed in the crate most of the day, watching, trying not to nod off. After a good walk in the afternoon with everyone, he did lay on the floor near the boys while they watched tv. When they moved around, he went back to his crate (door always open so he has the choice). He let the 9 yr old stroke him, but retreated from the younger one. I think if he saw them again, he would be better. He's still very wary of anyone coming into the house. Freezes when sees other people out, but has stopped trying to get away. Will now come up to us for a treat or a fuss, but no cuddling up . Must admit I don't want him getting too attached as I know he's moving on. he is very tall when he stands on his back legs - he managed to get a mackerel tin out of the sink! He's got over the wooden floor fear, I've taken the rugs up now and he's fine. Loves zoomies in the garden, is reluctant to go out there without my two girls, really wants to play indoors much more than they do. I thought Ellie would love to go mad with him, but she's a bit wary, I think he's a bit big for her. Rosie is just quiet, I think she's hoping this pesky teenager will leave soon! hes very lovable, going to be stunning, and will I am sure make someone a brilliant companion, in my view I think he would be happy with at least one other hound around. the "op" is Wednesday!
