I'm hoping this is a snozzle pic. Cadbury is becoming more relaxed in the house now. He's been here one week and so far I have not seen any concerning behaviour. He had a few peeing accidents but has been clean indoors for 3 days now. It helps that he can go in the garden without a lead. He has shown no interest at escaping again. One thing that I will ask the vet to check out on Weds is a strange lump between his shoulder blades, he is sensitive around the neck area too, this isn't effecting his walks or anything but I think may be from an old injury. He has some scars on his tum which look like barbed wire injurys from his escape artist past.

His previous owner didn't take him to the vet and have him injected with anything did they? Nero had a lump between his shoulders after a jab from a vet when we were on holiday in Cornwall. It was still there about 2 weeks after we came home, but did go down eventually. Just a possibility.

Now that you mention it Ro, he had his first vax last week, they did warn me with all my dogs they may get a lump there but none of them reacted, it's possible he has. Thank you for reminding me

We hired an enclosed field for an hour today just to see if Cadbury wanted a blast. Apart from the first day when he escaped he hasn't shown any interest in running, quite content to trot from bush to bush to tree to pee! So it was an absolute joy to see Cadbury run after Jethro. Of course I didn't have my phone handy. Jethro had to slow down for Cads to catch up but they had great fun. Cadbury came back to me each time the chase finished. He is such a lovely boy. Calm, loving and just enough character.

He is such a sweetie - nuts'n'all! Edited to add that, ever since I saw the last photo earlier this afternoon, I've had the song, "Let's go gathering nuts in May" running around inside my head. Can't for the life of me think why!

Can't for the life of me think why! Perhaps I should tell him the squirrels visited and stole his nuts although he doesn't seem to have noticed they're gone yet! Cadbury has recovered very well. He is abit of a wuss but all went well. Back to roaching. We are very happy with Cadbury, he is pretty much a perfect dog. Things to be aware of for any prospective adopters #1: Cads still occassionally pees indoors, he needs to go out straight after eating and on waking (I haven't had any problems but Neil should read this! ) #2: He does whine for attention, we find ignoring him the best solution. We fuss him when we want, not on demand. (He is hard to refuse) #3: Cads can jump high so is a fab counter surfer #4: One of Cadbury's quirks is that he won't poo in the garden, he lets you know he needs to go but he needs to go out for a brief walk to do his business so we usually go out twice a day on our main walks with a small walk in the evening so he is 'empty' he for the night. I think because of his previous life outside he has become quite attached to me and Neil (this won't be an issue as he will quickly attach himself to new owners) but he whines when left. We do leave him and he does settle but i think he would prefer an owner who is around most of the time. He will be a loyal companion. Who ever takes this boy into their heart with truly be blessed. Even my dogs love him! Jethro and Patch have cuddled with him.

Met up with Claire and Chantelle, with Cadbury and Jethro, for a stroll round the woods today. Lucy came along to the Lurcherfest too. What a very calm and collected hound Cadbury is. He met my pack very nicely and had he not been on lead would have loved to play zoomies with them. He greeted all other dogs we met with the same calm friendly confidence, and whoever adopts this lovely boy will be very lucky indeed.

It was lovely to meet up with everyone today, thank you for the invite Romi!
Cadbury is gorgeous and a totally chilled out gent! So pleased he has found a home, although I have to admit to being a shade gutted to miss out on this one!
Hope it goes well for him and his new family.
